that winter is here, three quick reminders about snow removal in our development:</span></span></div><div style="background: white; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"><span face=""Arial",sans-serif" style="color: #050505; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none;"><br /></span><span face=""Arial",sans-serif" style="color: #050505; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none;">First, the Board only
plows our streets and courts when snowfall amounts exceed 2 inches. It’s expensive
to plow (and salt), costing thousands of dollars for each snow event.
As a result, if warmer temps are forecast within a day or so you may see
snow-covered roads for a time.<br /></span><span face=""Arial",sans-serif" style="color: #050505; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none;"><br />
</span></span></div><div style="background: white; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"><span face=""Arial",sans-serif" style="color: #050505; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none;">Second, when big storms approach, please move your vehicles off our
streets and into your driveway so our plowing contractor can do his work safely
and efficiently. No one likes to navigate around snowed in cars, so please be
considerate to your fellow residents and keep our roads clear.<br /></span><span face=""Arial",sans-serif" style="color: #050505; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none;"><br />
</span></span></div><div style="background: white; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"><span face=""Arial",sans-serif" style="color: #050505; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none;">And third, as always, please use caution and slow down while driving through
our development as roads will be slick, especially when temps dip below
freezing</span><span face="Arial, sans-serif" style="color: #050505;">.<br style="mso-special-character: line-break;" />

Residents since 1981, the Reeds also have two fountains and a bird bath, and a fig tree in the back yard requiring special winterization so it springs to life each new season and produces a bounty of figs (which they donate to a local high-end restaurant).</span></span></span></div><div><b style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: x-large;"><br /></b></div><div><b style="font-family: helvetica;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-size: x-large; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb0mzAITKu3uSZGEsRBGpEW1A784khSjancyeucARrr3wc4Qx8r0kXYO2O2JdIageVTYpWHXl2q1orK_wMlN5kjjbampjEmqAuHVsP4GmlqxqKE_J8Pa4VwfMJRkcz4fBFFmQe20WAiNxJ6ti7YXMwo00o3xy5yTaJK8uzAAe4sxXRJiMuegj51sV_xTaA/s394/3rd.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="177" data-original-width="394" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb0mzAITKu3uSZGEsRBGpEW1A784khSjancyeucARrr3wc4Qx8r0kXYO2O2JdIageVTYpWHXl2q1orK_wMlN5kjjbampjEmqAuHVsP4GmlqxqKE_J8Pa4VwfMJRkcz4fBFFmQe20WAiNxJ6ti7YXMwo00o3xy5yTaJK8uzAAe4sxXRJiMuegj51sV_xTaA/w400-h180/3rd.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-size: large;">Third place: 7701 Teel Way</span></b><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"> (Lot 199, Shirley and Richard Kneubuhler). All good things come to and end, as the saying goes, and that includes our 2023

facility, with hours from noon to 8 p.m.</span></div><div style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"><br />It’s been a great summer of swimming,

Manager <a href="mailto:samanthaburns51@gmail.com">Samantha Burns</a> and her lifeguard staff for a job
well done. For the most part, our facility was staffed and open daily the entire summer, unlike

card-playing or board game night for residents. Well, you spoke and we
listened! Think bingo, euchre, poker, bridge … you name it. We’re tentatively
thinking the first Tuesday of every month, possibly more frequently depending
on interest, and open to all residents (in good standing) and their
non-resident friends.<br /><br />Eagle Nest used to have a Bridge Club
that played regularly for years at the Clubhouse, but interest waned and
eventually the group disbanded. But often what is old is new again, and the
time is ripe to start anew as we look ahead to fall and winter (boo).<br /> <br />We’re always looking for ways to use
the Clubhouse for the benefit of the community as a whole, so if you’re

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">Unfortunately, this has become an annual exercise, and the
reason our dues were increased last year to start a long-term capital improvement
fund for extensive repairs in the years ahead.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">It’s worth noting the closure is so guards can clearly see
the bottom of the Pool, not because the discolored water is a health hazard. Since
opening, we have passed all of our weekly water quality tests required by the
Marion County Board of Health (copies are posted in the glass case by the bathrooms,
by the way), thanks to diligent chemical maintenance by our Pool staff.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">Unfortunately, outdoor pools – especially aging facilities
like ours – can be a challenge to maintain due to various
external elements like weather, debris, bird wildlife and other factors.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">That said, we are working as quickly as possible to reopen
the crown jewel of our development. We hate to be closed for even one day, but safety
always comes first. It’s worth noting that we’ve been open daily since
Memorial Day, while public facilities like nearby Sahm Park only recently opened
with limited hours of operation due to staffing issues.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">That’s says a lot about our Pool team and their commitment to our
community. We hope you agree.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

unofficially begins Memorial Day weekend, and that means our Pool facility will
be opening for the season. Our main and wading pools have been power-washed and
filled, and our guard team will be working to balance the chemicals this week.
Weather permitting, we are targeting noon Sunday for opening, but watch the
Eagle Nest blog and our Facebook page for the official day and time.</span></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><span style="font-size: large;">For 2023, hours of operation will be noon to 8 p.m. daily.</span></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;">We have a great
lifeguard team in place again this year. Their No. 1 charge? Safety. When it
comes to rules, what our guard staff says goes. No exceptions. Violators will
be ejected and referred to the Board for further action. Bottomline: This is a
family-oriented neighborhood facility, not a public pool playhouse, and want to
keep it enjoyable for all.<br /><br /></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;">If you paid your
dues by May 12, watch U.S. mail this week for your pool tags and a copy of the
rules. If you paid after that, your tags may be delayed as we process those who
paid on time first. We expect and appreciate your patience, too, as we have
limited administrative staff to manage 419 lots, especially when dozens of
residents pay at the last minute. We’re not Amazon, so instantaneous processing
and delivery is not possible for our Association. We expect and appreciate your
patience on that front.<br /><br /></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;">Lastly, if your
lot has any violations – including storing your garbage carts in the open, or substandard
lot maintenance – Pool tags and Clubhouse rental privileges will be withheld
until the violation(s) is corrected. Questions about that? Contact Board
President Scott Thien at <a href="mailto:scottthien@comcast.net">scottthien@comcast.net</a>.<br /><o:p></o:p><b><br /></b></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"><b>Last call for
