BB guns use sparks complaints, warnings

Residents in the 7900 block of Teel Way recently several kids shooting BB guns around a homeowner's property and their place residence. While owning a BB gun or using one is not illegal, pointing such weapons at residents or pets can be misconstrued as threatening and have terrible consequences.

To illustrate, consider: It's sunset. You're a registered gun owner with a license to carry. You're walking your dog and go by a house where a pre-teen is playing with a BB gun. You notice that he clearly points the weapon at you, "sighting" you as if he were preparing to shoot. It catches you off guard, and you respond. You pull your weapon and fire to defend yourself. Serious injury or death occurs.

That's not the type of neighbors we want to be or the kind of neighborhood we want, either. The ENPOA Board ask parents of children who own or use BB guns to do so responsibly. Such weapons should not be aimed at anyone for obvious safety reasons -- for both the child and the "target."

Residents are reminded to call 911 if ever they feel threatened in such a way, or see anything else suspicious in the neighborhood. It is not recommended that you take matters into your own hands. Call the proper authorities.

As previously announced on our blog and Facebook page, the Annual Meeting and Board election is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at our Clubhouse. All residents in good standing (whose annual dues are paid) are welcome to attend. The meeting will begin with regular business, officer and committee reports, then close with new business and a tally of election ballots. Board May update: Pool opening, pool fobs, dues update, Board election, tennis court repairs, neighborhood garage sale

Memorial Day is the traditional unofficial start of summer — and that means a lot of upcoming activities in Eagle Nest! A quick rundown of what to expect: Pool opening: The good news? The Pool will be open daily noon to 8 p.m., starting Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Popsicles and adult beverages will be available for kids and adults, respectively, that first day. P lease familiarize yourself with our  Pool rules here . Questions? Contact new Co-Pool Managers Ken Burns (daily operations and facility maintenance) or Andrew Taylor (administration and Pool fobs).  The bad news? Eagle Nest Board update for April 2026: dues, streetlights, potholes, suspicious vehicles, upcoming events and more

Now that spring has sprung in Eagle Nest, summer isn’t far behind – barely two months away! With that, the Board has a few updates and event announcements to pass along: Package delivery alert: Suspicious vehicles trolling streets If you order from Amazon or other delivery sites, take note: Residents along Warbler Way recently reported suspicious vehicles (shown) driving slowly along the street, possibly looking for packages. One vehicle even tailed a U.S. Postal Service truck for blocks as it made its deliveries one day. If you expect a package to be delivered while you are away or at work, the Board suggests you ask a neighbor to grab the package for you or time your deliveries for when you are home.
