A word about trash pickup days ...

Sometimes, in the rush to making the neighbohood pickups, the city trash collector will accidentally spill a piece of garbage (or two) or leave trash containers strewn about in the street. Sure, he could be careful, but accidents happen.

In an effort to keep our neighborhood clean and well-kept, do your neighbors a favor: Take a moment and pick up any loose, stray garbage and dispose of it properly. And if you see someone's garbage can rolling into the street or their can lids blowing about, recover them and return to the owner's property. Such random acts of kindness will help continue to keep our neighborhood one of the most respected and desirable places to live. Your Eagle Nest Board thanks you ....

Now that spring has sprung in Eagle Nest, summer isn’t far behind – barely two months away! With that, the Board has a few updates and event announcements to pass along: Package delivery alert: Suspicious vehicles trolling streets If you order from Amazon or other delivery sites, take note: Residents along Warbler Way recently reported suspicious vehicles (shown) driving slowly along the street, possibly looking for packages. One vehicle even tailed a U.S. Postal Service truck for blocks as it made its deliveries one day. If you expect a package to be delivered while you are away or at work, the Board suggests you ask a neighbor to grab the package for you or time your deliveries for when you are home. Board Update: Pool Party with free food, new fob access, cleanup crew recap; Annual Garage Sale June 7-8; dues deadlines approaching and more!

Hello, Eagle Nesters! The Board hopes your spring is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe with all the cold, rainy weather of April that the Pool will be open in barely a month. In preparation for that, it’s time to share a few updates about the 2024 swim season: Nearly a dozen residents turn out to deep clean the Pool A huge thanks goes out to the volunteer team led by Bittern Lane residents John and Cindy Spicklemire for organizing a deep clean of Pool facility on Saturday, April 27. The team of 12 spent hours power washing the chairs to address years of sunblock stains and removing wall grime, while others pulled weeds, cleaned the tables and swept up debris. In return, the Board brought in Jimmy John’s sandwiches, chips and water to keep our cleaning crew fueled up. That was a small price to pay for what would have cost thousands of dollars in labor and time to hire a contractor to do the same work. Board May update: Pool opening, pool fobs, dues update, Board election, tennis court repairs, neighborhood garage sale

Memorial Day is the traditional unofficial start of summer — and that means a lot of upcoming activities in Eagle Nest! A quick rundown of what to expect: Pool opening: The good news? The Pool will be open daily noon to 8 p.m., starting Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Popsicles and adult beverages will be available for kids and adults, respectively, that first day. P lease familiarize yourself with our  Pool rules here . Questions? Contact new Co-Pool Managers Ken Burns (daily operations and facility maintenance) or Andrew Taylor (administration and Pool fobs).  The bad news? Our heater is on the fritz, so the water will be chilly. Our team is seeking bids for a replacement unit, but it may take several weeks before we figure out next steps. Pray for warmer weather soon! Pool fobs: All residents must have an active pool fob to access the Pool. If you still have your fob from last year and your dues are paid (and cleared our bank), your fob should work on Monday.
