Eagle Nest elects president, two new directors to the board
Directors are elected to 2-year terms. |
During last week's monthly ENPOA meeting, the board elected Jason Herche as president. Jason, a first-term director who spearheaded this year's pool tags and directory, replaced outgoing President Don Rosen, a longtime director who previously served as vice president.
Don was instrumental in leading several key initiatives to protect and enhance the neighborhood, including the installation of security cameras at the Clubhouse, formulating a 10-year budget plan, jump-starting a neighborhood risk assessment, and improving board efficiencies, among other things. Don, who has lived in the neighborhood since its creation, has been a fountain of institutional knowledge and the neighborhood's leading expert on the covenants, by-laws and articles of incorporation.
The board gave Don a $75 restaurant gift certificate as a token of appreciation for all his hard work and years of service to the neighborhood. Don's wisdom and guidance certainly will be missed, but thankfully he's agreed to act as counsel on ENPOA's governing documents, if needed. Thank you, Don!
Also elected to the board: Angie Obergfell and Scott Thien, both of whom were re-elected to second terms; and Jason Van Meter and Alice Miley, both write-in candidates and first-time ENPOA directors. Scott was re-elected as vice president, and Angie was nominated and accepted the open role of treasurer.
About one-fourth of Eagle Nest property owners -- 100 ballots were cast -- participated in the election, equaling last year's turnout. The paper ballots, distributed to all homeowners last weekend, were counted by Secretary/bookkeeper Chris'e Van Meter during the monthly board meeting at the Clubhouse.
Coming soon to the Eagle Nest blog: profiles of new board members Jason Van Meter and Alice Miley.
