Abandoned cat adopted by Eagle Nest residents
Thanks to the Wollen family on Goldfinch Circle, this recently abandoned female calico kitten found in Eagle Nest now has a new home.
According to former ENPOA President Harry Riebe, who found the 9-month-old animal a few weeks ago, the Wollens are thrilled with their new family member after having recently lost their pet dog.
Harry said he and his wife found the cat a few weeks ago near their home and had it examined by a vet and vaccinated. The animal was in perfect health and free of parasites and fleas, the vet said.
Even better, the cat is box trained, extremely friendly and -- believe it or not -- responded to the word "no."
