Atempted car break-in reported in driveway on Sandpiper Court
Thankfully, Eagle Nest is relatively immune to the crime that occurs
in many neighborhoods throughout Indianapolis. The ENPOA board
attributes this to the watchful eyes and constant vigilance of our
residents.
Unfortunately, incidents do occur. On the night of Aug. 6/early morning of Aug. 7, someone tried to break into a locked car parked in a driveway on Sandpiper Court. The car's window trim had been pried back, but the break-in was not successful, according to our Crime Watch coordinators.
If you must leave your car in your driveway, residents are reminded to keep garage door openers and other valuables out of sight. Had this break-in been successful, the garage door opener would have provided access to the garage and possibly into the house.
On July 9, a residential burglary was reported in the 7900 block of Teel Way, according to www.IndyStar.com/911 The crime was reported to police at 5:44 p.m. No other details are available.
At least three break-ins were reported in July in surrounding neighbhorhoods:
> Castleton Estates: July 16, no address reported, but police say burglars ransacked a home in broad daylight after kicking in the front door. WTHR story:
