Pool is open, a little green but safe
If you've been to the pool lately, you might have noticed the green water caused by algae.
No worries, says Pool Manager Susan Anderson in a recent email: "It is starting to die off and should be gone in a day or so. Despite the appearance of the pool, it is perfectly safe to be in, our chemicals are within proper ranges, and we have passed both the Marion County random inspection this week and our weekly lab test. It's just a waiting game at this point, but working toward correction!"
The algae crept in after a recent pump room leak. The pool drained by more than half and as a result needed to be refilled with fresh water. As you can guess, it takes a while to treat 83,000 gallons of water!
So, for the next day or two, pretend you're swimming in one of Indiana's green lakes -- only our water is treated and chemically safe!
