Farewell to a longtime Eagle Nest friend: Pool Manager Susan Anderson resigns
Fellow residents,
As the saying goes, all good things eventually come to an end. And in our case, that means saying farewell to Susan Anderson, our longtime Pool Manager. Last month, Susan resigned her position, due to the growing demands of her full-time job, medical school studies and increasing family needs. In short, something had to give. That’s totally understandable, especially in today’s busy world.
Since she was hired in 2011, Susan has always gone above and beyond to keep our aging Pool facility operational, and she often spent many off-hour days and nights tending to our problematic pump room. She used her connections to hire a talented and reliable lifeguard staff year after year, and she ensured our facility remained open every day through the season (and well after Labor Day, when most pools traditionally close).
Although Susan never lived in Eagle Nest, she and her family were as familiar as many of our longtime neighbors. Her three daughters worked as lifeguards at the Pool, and she herself worked as an assistant swim coach at Lawrence North High School. Her work experience and connections – more than two decades of pool-related roles in two states, including stints as a high school developmental swim coach, and leader of a local diving competition team – made her an invaluable asset. She will be sorely missed.
Thank you, Susan, for all you (and your family) have done for the residents of Eagle Nest. We wish you all the best
Suffice to say, we need a new Pool Manager asap. If you're interested, please contact Board President Scott Thien at scottthien@comcast.net.
