Board Update: Free pizza for Resident Appreciation Day, Crime Watch No Soliciting stickers, neighborhood safety repairs
Hello Eagle Nest
residents,
Here is a look at neighborhood news for the week of September 20, 2021:
RESIDENT
APPRECIATION DAY: FREE JET’S PIZZA ON THURSDAY, SEPT. 23
Yep, you read that right – free pizza! It’s Resident Appreciation Day on
Thursday, Sept. 23, so head to the Clubhouse from 5 to 7 p.m. for your
complimentary personal Jet’s Pizza (one per household). Sausage, pepperoni or
cheese varieties will be available.
All you need to
do is show your 2021 Pool Pass to claim your free pizza. This is a
first-come, first-served offer, so don’t wait until the last minute. Jet’s
Pizzas always go fast! Additional pizzas will be available for $5 cash, per
usual, so basically it’s BOGO (buy one, get one free).
It’s the Board’s
way of saying thank you to our residents for helping keep our neighborhood looking
sharp, clean, safe and the envy of the Northeastside!
NO SOLICITING
STICKERS NOW AVAILABLE FROM CRIME WATCH
You spoke, and
we listened. Free “No Soliciting” stickers are available from our Crime Watch
to display on your home’s windows. As we all know, unrequested visits by
solicitors can be irritating, intrusive and an invasion of privacy. Now you can
send a clear message that door-to-door salespeople are not welcome.
If you clearly
display a no-soliciting sticker and a solicitor steps on your property, they technically
are trespassing. That gives you legal grounds to call police to file a criminal
complaint and file charges. (We suggest you take a cell phone picture of the
solicitor on your property, too, to help verify your trespassing claim.)
Sure, we have no
soliciting signs at all entrances, but those are just informational messages to
all who enter our development that solicitors are not welcome. Such signage
isn’t legally binding unless on a homeowner’s actual property.
Get your sticker and protect your privacy! We have two options (both measuring 5” x 1.75”). The interior version has a clear background and adhesive on the front side; the exterior has a solid blue background with adhesive on the back.
To get your free
sticker, stop by our Crime Watch meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the
Clubhouse. The meeting will have refreshments and an update on the latest crime
activity in the area. Questions? Contact Crime Watch Coordinator Carolyn
Goldenetz at goldenetz@gmail.com.
A special thanks
to Carolyn for the creative solution to help keep Eagle Nest a safe, peaceful and commercial-free
neighborhood!
DID YOU NOTICE THESE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY REPAIRS?
So, from the
not-so-exciting-but-important category: After weeks of pestering the city of
Indianapolis, Board member/Streets and Sidewalks Coordinator Helen Galvin was
successful in getting all the neighborhood’s dirty, peeling fire hydrants cleaned
up and repainted for improved visibility. Helen also got the city to repaint
the reflective directional arrows on the Teel Way and Tanager Lane speed bumps,
and she has engaged IPL/AES to repair two dark street lights in the 7900 block
of Tanager Lane. Thanks, Helen, for helping keep our neighborhood safe for
residents!
By the way,
anyone can report a dark street light. Simply call or file an online report with IPL/AES – it takes
literally two minutes and is the quickest way to address the problem. You will
need the pole light number found near top lighting element. Click
here to begin
a report (and thanks for your help!).
FRIENDLY REMINDER:
TRASH CARTS: Please store your trash and recycling roll carts out of sight (ideally in your garage or in the back of your home). It’s not just a courtesy to keep our neighborhood from looking trashy, our Declarations of Restrictions (Section 5F) prohibit storing them within view of the development. Thank you for your cooperation!
