82 nd Street road construction closure April 7-15 According to an April 2 release from the City of Indianapolis, 82 nd Street will be closed starting Monday, April 7, to Tuesday, April 15, between Craig Street and Castleton Road (basically between Speedway and Sparkling Image) for Nickel Plate Trail construction and railroad track removal. Detour signage will direct drivers to use Allisonville Road, 96th Street and I-69 to navigate around the closure. Businesses in the area will remain accessible to the public, Roberts wrote. Don’t get caught off guard! Plan ahead and leave early for work or school, as this will be a major disruption for the next week. (Take note, Starbucks lovers!) Each year, it gets harder and harder to pick the winners in the annual Holiday Lights Contest – and that’s a good thing. It’s so refreshing, uplifting and encouraging to see the spirit of the holidays on full display across the neighborhood, in big ways and small. This year’s panel of judges – a Board member’s relatives visiting from Florida and Belgium (no joke!) – were amazed by the effort so many homeowners put into decorating their lots and homes. And so with that, the winners are (drum roll please) … First place (tie): 8250 Warbler Way/Lot 120 (Tom and Cindy Corbett) First place (tie): 8133 Bittern Lane/Lot 217 (Kevin and Bronwyn Caddell) Second place: 8133 Tanager Court/Lot 276 (Arlo and Heather Meyer) Third place (tie): 8019 Tanager Lane/Lot 285 (Eric and Cheryl Herzog) Third place (tie): 8331 Mockingbird Lane/Lot 92 (Brian and Brandy Schneider) Let’s not forget some outstanding honorable mentions: Bittern Lane: 8015, 8020, 8102, 8111, 8112, 8133 Warbler Way: 7710, 772...
Hello, Eagle Nesters! The Board hopes your spring is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe with all the cold, rainy weather of April that the Pool will be open in barely a month. The team of 12 spent hours power washing the chairs to address years of sunblock stains and removing wall grime, while others pulled weeds, cleaned the tables and swept up debris. In return, the Board brought in Jimmy John’s sandwiches, chips and water to keep our cleaning crew fueled up. That was a small price to pay for what would have cost thousands of dollars in labor and time to hire a contractor to do the same work. Be sure to give these neighbors a hearty thanks for their cleanup efforts: J...
