Residents safe after fire damages Tanager Court home; Board launches GoFundMe page for family donations

As many of you probably have heard, the Hernandez-Ramirez family home at 8104 Tanager Court, was extensively damaged by fire Sunday morning, Dec. 10. Thankfully, no one suffered serious injuries, which is remarkable given Indianapolis Fire Department reported that several children had to jump out of second-story windows into the arms of family members below.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately available, but you can imagine the emotional and financial strain of such a catastrophe just two weeks before Christmas.

To help the family buy clothes, personal items and get reestablished, the Board set up a Go Fund Me page, raising nearly $4,000 in one month! Suffice to say, the family was extremely grateful for everyone's generosity in their time of need.

Some residents may recall the Board hosted a similar effort for residents whose home on Sandpiper Court burned in September 2020, and we raised an impressive $1,600.

Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. Questions? Contact Board President Scott Thien at scottthien@comcast.net
