Board Update: Monday’s food truck, Annual Meeting and Board Election, pool update, lot improvement reminder
Summer is officially here, and that means exciting times ahead for Eagle Nest. Our pool is open (with light restrictions), our sports courts are open, and our food truck partnerships continue! Read on the for the latest updates:
Food truck on Monday, June 22: Bagel Boss Indy! Back by popular demand, @BagelBossIndy will be serving up their crazy good signature New York-style steamed sandwiches from a wide menu of options, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clubhouse. Each big bagel sandwich is made fresh and individually wrapped in foil to stay hot. Prices range from $6 to $8; sides sold separately include chips, potato and pasta salad and cookies. Cash or credit cards accepted. You also can text ahead and pay via Venmo at (317) 997-7826.
Please respect CDC guidelines on social distancing during ordering and pickup. Also, please park in the back lot to prevent vehicle congestion and use caution entering and exiting the Clubhouse parking lot. If you have food truck contacts or suggestions, please contact Board President Scott Thien at scottthien@comcast.net. Coming June 30: the soul-infused goodness of @Chef_TLC food bus!
Planning a lot improvement? Now that the nice weather is here, more homeowners are eager to make lot improvements like building fences and sheds, repaving driveways, painting, replacing decks, etc. A reminder that all exterior projects need to be approved by the Board. Requests are rarely declined; we just want to ensure all projects fit with the neighborhood’s aesthetics. Check the Eagle Nest blog for guidance on how to submit an improvement request and what’s required.
Annual Meeting and Board Election reminder: By now, all residents in good standing should have received via U.S. mail a reminder about the Annual Meeting and Board Election on June 29. If not, please contact Secretary/Bookkeeper Chris’e Van Meter at enpoa_sec@att.net Please be sure to turn in your election ballot to the Clubhouse mailbox, at 8075 Teel Way, by 6:30 p.m. June 29. You also may attend the meeting and hand-deliver your ballot. Write-in candidates are welcome, but they must be present during the Annual Meeting to accept their nomination. All ballots must be signed to be valid. We appreciate your participation in this important process.
A word (or two) about the Pool: First off, we hope everyone is enjoying our neighborhood pool! Our development is lucky to have such a wonderful asset, one of the largest privately owned neighborhood facilities in the city. Did you know that nearby Sahm Park Pool is closed all summer? Not Eagle Nest – we’re open every day! Our pool staff has been working hard to maintain our water quality and keep the facility clean, which is always challenging with frequent visits from ducks, blowing tree debris and heavy sun that burns off our chemicals. The toddler wading pool is especially challenging to keep clean, as you might suspect, so please be patient with occasional closures as we drain, refill and retreat the water from time to time.
We appreciate everyone’s diligence in presenting pool tags and turning in your waiver forms. Please ensure each person in your swimming party has a tag, because the facility is intended for residents only, not the public at large. Please report access violations to any lifeguard.
As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 climate, please continue to observe the Marion County Health Department’s regulations during pool use:
- 100-person capacity in the facility (inside the fence).
- 75 people maximum in the water at one time.
- No non-resident guests permitted.
- Chairs must be sanitized after use.
- No masks while in the water.
- One person in the bathroom at a time (unless parents with family members).
- 6-foot social distancing must be maintained.
Questions or concerns about the facility should be directed to Pool Manager Samantha Burns at samanthaburns51@gmail.com or Board President Scott Thien at scottthien@comcast.net
As always, the Board welcomes your suggestions, comments and yes, even constructive criticism so we can ensure Eagle Nest remains a top neighborhood in the city!
