Board Update: Neighborhood news sources, new food truck on Tuesday, Labor Day pool closure, free popsicles
Here is what’s happening in the neighborhood the week of August 31:
OFFICIAL NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS: As many of you probably know, you can’t believe everything you read on the internet -- including social media and fake news. That’s why the Board reminds residents that official Eagle Nest news is only available on these three platforms:
- Eagle Nest Blog: http://eaglenestindy.blogspot.com
- Constant Contact: To join our weekly blast, send an email to enpoa_sec@att.net. (Residents only)
TUESDAY’S FOOD TRUCK: We’re excited to welcome a new player to our food truck rotation on Tuesday – Droopy’s Indy Eats, featuring a “state fair” menu like no other. Think 1/3-pound bison burgers, chicken parmigiana, Italian sausage subs, habanero BBQ fried chicken po’boys, Cubanos, breaded tenderloins, poutine fries, wings and more. There’s a kid’s menu, too. @DroopysBBQ has been a northside favorite for decades, and now they’re coming to Clubhouse. Get ready to smash some great food!
POOL HOURS REMINDER: A reminder that the last day of operation for the Eagle Nest Pool is Labor Day, Monday, Sept 7. We have adjusted weekday hours through then: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend hours remain the same: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Per tradition, the first half hour and last half hour of each day are reserved for adult swim.
POPSICLES ON THE PATIO: To bid farewell to another great Eagle Nest pool season, the Board is handing out free popsicles for kids and adults from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7. (While supplies last. Adults 21+ will like the alcohol-infused varieties, too.) We hope you enjoy this one last taste of summer. Can you believe fall is just a few weeks away?
In other Board news …
PIZZA GIVEAWAY SUCCESS: As you might expect, our free pizza giveaway was a huge success last Thursday, a great cap to our summer Family Fun Night series of events. All 50 pizzas compliments of the Board were gone in less than an hour, as well as an extra batch available for sale. We know residents appreciate the convenience of having Jet’s stop in our development, so we’re looking to schedule more visits in the weeks ahead. Watch the blog, Facebook and email for more dates.
That's it for now. As always, feel free to contact any Board member with questions, concerns or suggestions. Have a great week!
On behalf of the Board,
