Board Update: Annual Party on August 1, more free swim lessons coming, Food Truck Tuesday, Signage Policy reminder
Hello Eagle Nest
residents,
Here is the
latest neighborhood news for the week of July 19:
SAVE THE DATE:
SUNDAY, AUGUST 1, IS OUR ANNUAL EAGLE NEST PARTY!
It’s been a tough, weird year for
everyone, and now that things are opening up it’s time to celebrate all the
goodness of life in Eagle Nest. Join us starting at noon Sunday, August 1, for
the Annual Eagle Nest Party at the Clubhouse.
The Board will provide free fried
chicken, lemonade and bottled water, as well as a variety of Sun King beers for
residents 21 and older. We also will have gift card drawings every half hour
until 2 p.m., and we are working on some tasty free treats for the kids. Basically,
a little something for everyone!
Per tradition, we ask residents to
bring/donate a side salad, trays of assorted cheese and crackers or fruit,
chips, dips, etc., for neighbors to enjoy. We’ll have tables set up inside the
Clubhouse so you can eat, greet and meet fellow Eagle Nesters. Families are
welcome to eat outside in the upper pool patio, too. The best part is the party
is on rain or shine, so plan to join us!
MORE SWIM LESSONS COMING; ADJUSTED HOURS JULY 24
In last week’s Board Update poll, about
two dozen families expressed interest in another round of free swim lessons for
their little Eagle Nesters. Good news! You spoke, and our lifeguard staff
listened. The team is looking at scheduling options and will announce details
in the coming weeks.
Each weeklong session will consist of five
half-hour classes in the morning before the Pool opens. Lessons are open to all residents in good standing, ages 3
and older. Participants must have a waiver signed by parents before the
first class. Keep an
eye on the blog, Facebook and email for signup details soon.
Also, a reminder that we have adjusted hours on July 24. The facility will be open from noon
to 6 p.m., a temporary shift in operation to accommodate staffing. Outside of
that, Pool hours are the same: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Lastly, we have a growing pile of
lost-and-found items (see
video) at the Pool.
If you’re missing Pool gear, please check the fence under the Clubhouse deck. All
unclaimed items by August 1 will be donated to Goodwill Industries.
As always, if you have questions or
concerns about the Pool, please contact Pool Manager Samantha Burns at samantha.burns51@gmail.com.
COMING FOR FOOD
TRUCK TUESDAY: IT’S UNION JACK!
Don’t feel like cooking? Take a break
Tuesday and head down to the Clubhouse for the Union Jack food truck! Yep, the renowned, decades-old Broad Ripple
favorite offers pork tenderloins, Bavarian pretzel bread sticks and queso, fish
and chips, mac and cheese and more.
Then on Thursday, don’t forget Jet’s
Pizza is selling $5 personal pizzas (sausage, pepperoni or cheese) from 5-7
p.m. at the Clubhouse. (Cash only). Both are part of our weekly food truck
rotation through September. Check the blog
Events page
to see who’s next and when!

OTHER NEWS:
SIGNAGE POLICY: A reminder that yard signs are not
permitted without Board approval. We’ve seen a few pop up around the
development in the wake of the June 18 hail storm, but unfortunately these do
not qualify for display, per the Eagle
Nest Signage Policy approved by the Board of
Directors on January 31, 2020, and recorded with Marion County on February
23, 2021, as part of the Association's Declarations of Restrictions.
Exception: Contractors signs are permitted only on the day of active repairs –
generic promotion signs are not.
Unapproved signs will be removed. Have a sign you want to display? Submit a
request -- just snap a photo of the sign and email it with a description
(materials, size, duration of display) to RulesRestrictions@att.net. (That also is the email address to
submit proposed plans for fences, decks, sheds and other exterior lot
improvements.) Thanks for your help in keeping our neighborhood a
commercial-free zone.
On behalf of the Board,
ScottThien, President
