If you own a
cool car or bike (or you have friends who do), consider this an open invite to
join us and show off your rides. Just email scottthien@comcast.net with your name,
cell number and model you’ll bring and we’ll save you a parking spot. This is a
great way to meet new neighbors and learn a bit about the car and bike culture.
Hey, this is Indianapolis – everyone likes things with engines, right?
Bonus: We’re
giving away a limited supply of free personal pizzas from Jet’s Pizza to every
resident who shows their 2021 Pool Pass. You know the drill: first-come, first
served; sausage, cheese and pepperoni varieties. A few extras will be on hand
for sale, $5 each per usual (cash only).
Hope to see you
there! (And thanks to MGB owner and Teel Way resident Tom Ford for the
car show idea!)
CRIME WATCH
WRAPS UP 2021 MEETING SERIES
It was a busy month on the Crime Watch front. Highlights:
It was a busy month on the Crime Watch front. Highlights:
Q4 meeting: Earlier this month we held our last quarterly meeting, where
Eagle Nest Coordinator Carolyn Goldenetz shared the latest area crime news and
distributed our new “No Soliciting” window stickers. (Email Carolyn at goldenetz@gmail.com to request one. See our 09-19-21 blog post for more info.)
It also is Carolyn’s birthday month, so attendees enjoyed some of her favorite
treats – including cake! – and adult beverages. Congrats to residents (from
left) Joyce Tucker, who popped the cork on a sparkling rose to kick off the
meeting, and Tammy O’Tain and Rokenna Williams, who both won $50 gift cards to
Cake Bake. October concludes our 2021 meeting series, so Carolyn and the Board
thank all who attended our
meetings in person this year and continue to make Eagle Nest a safer place to
live.
Meeting survey: To better serve our residents and build attendance, be on the
lookout for a survey on which weeknight best serves your family to attend our quarterly
crime watch meetings. We’ll lean into the “majority rules” results and post the
2022 schedule soon. Stay tuned!
No Knock List: That’s right,
it’s a thing just like the Do Not Call List. By adding your address to the No
Knock List, commercial solicitation is prohibited at your residential address.
Note: Your listing is based on the calendar year and will expire December 31,
so be sure to re-register on January 1, 2022. Click here to add your
address to the Indy.gov list.

EAGLE NEST TO
SPONSOR STOCK THE IMPD SUBSTATION
As you probably
know, IMPD recently opened a substation in Shadeland Plaza to serve as a
staging place for officers working to keep our North District area safe. The
surrounding community of businesses and homeowners have been donating drinks
and munchies to help keep the station stocked for officers. And now Eagle Nest
is joining that effort. The Board has committed to hosting a neighborhood
donation drive for November and December, so we’re counting on resident
generosity to make it a successful show of support for our local beat officers.
Anything is fair
game, so the next time you’re at the store please pick up an extra non-perishable
food item or two, as well as disinfectant wipes and cleaning supplies. No donation is too big or too small. Frequently requested items include:
- Drinks like Gatorade, Powerade, soft drinks, teas
- Kirkland Italian mineral water (specifically requested!
- Frozen items (chicken pita melts, Uncrustables, taquitos, breakfast sandwiches, individual quiche, etc.)
- Shelf-stable microwaveable meals
- Frito Lay variety pack chips, energy bars, crackers
To donate an item, please bring it to our Car and Motorcycle Show on
October 24 at the Clubhouse. We’ll have collection boxes set up in the front
entrance foyer.
Questions? Please email Board Vice President Jason Van Meter at jpvanmeter@sbcglobal.net. Jason is
coordinating the Association’s donation partnership with IMPD and would appreciate
volunteers to help coordinate donations and delivery. Please contact your
neighbors, church friends, scouting or school groups and join this worthy
effort now!
IN OTHER NEWS:
TRASH CARTS: Please store your trash and recycling roll
carts out of sight (ideally in your garage or in back of your home). It’s not
just a courtesy to keep our Eagle Nest from looking trashy, our Declarations of
Restrictions (Section 5F) prohibit storing them in view of the development. Thank
you for your cooperation!
