Eagle Nest Update: Crime Watch meeting, news sources, Easter Egg Hunt, lot improvements, dues update
Happy March, Eagle Nest residents. Time to catch up on some neighborhood news covered in our February Board meeting:
Annual dues update
By now, you should have received your annual dues invoice in the mail (and electronically, if we have your email address in our records). Payment is due by May 31, delinquent with some hefty late fees through June. July 1, all unpaid accounts are turned over to our legal counsel for collections. Thank you to the dozens of lot owners who have paid so far – just a few hundred homeowners to go! Didn’t get an invoice, have questions or want to set up an installment payment plan? Contact Bookkeeper/Admin Chris’e Van Meter at enpoa_sec@att.net.

Crime Watch meeting March 19 at the Clubhouse
Join fellow residents interested in neighborhood safety at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at the Clubhouse. Discussion topics include how to address illegal parking, neighborhood speeding, stop sign scofflaws and ways to report other problems anonymously. As always, if you see something suspicious, please call 911. Also, check our blog’s Crime Watch page for more resources. See you March 19!
Think safety, common sense when selling to strangers
As spring approaches, residents no doubt will be cleaning house and purging furniture or other house wares. While websites like Facebook Marketplace or OfferUp may seem convenient, they also pose hidden dangers as you basically are inviting strangers to your house. Our Crime Watch team advises you to meet prospective buyers in public away from your property so they can’t fake injury while on your premises, “case” your property for valuables – or do worse to your bodily person. Ask a friend to tag along so you’re not alone. Be smart, use common sense and be safe!
Get neighborhood news from Board-approved sources
Do you follow our blog site, Facebook page and receive our occasional email blasts? If not, you should, as these are the only official sources of Eagle Nest news approved by the Board. Bookmark them, then send your email address to scottthien@comcast.net and we’ll add you to our official mail list.
Next Door and like-named Facebook pages are not endorsed by the Board or our hardworking staff who help keep our neighborhood running. Not into technology? Attend a Board meeting and get the scoop first-hand! Our next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26. Join us!
April 19 Easter Egg Hunt kicks off spring activities
Believe it or not, spring is just three weeks away, and that means our neighborhood activities will be back in swing. Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19. Discussions also are underway for our Memorial Day weekend pool opening, possibly a Discount Pizza Night and more. Watch the blog and Facebook for more details soon. Want to help? Email Social Committee Co-chairs Sarah Craney at mssarahjourdan@gmail.com or Marcella Kates at marcellakates@gmail.com.

Reminder: Lot improvements need Board approval
Did you know that our covenants require Board approval for all exterior lot improvements before work can begin? Such requests are rarely rejected, as we want residents to maintain their properties, of course. The Board simply needs to ensure projects fit with the aesthetics of the neighborhood. This includes but is not limited to fences, sheds, driveway and roof replacements, exterior color changes, among other things. The review process is quick and easy. Click here for more details on our blog.

It's pothole season: How to report them
We know that’s nothing new, but did you know you can help get those driving dangers fixed quicker by filing a report on the Mayor’s Action Center website? It only takes a few minutes: All you need to do is answer six quick multiple-choice questions (you’ll need the address of the closest house, by the way). That’s it, then we’re in line with the rest of the city!
