Board membership changes, election and annual meeting on June 28
Following are a few updates from the May meeting of the Eagle Nest Board of Directors:
Board membership change: Vice President Mike Lathrop has resigned his position and membership from the Board in preparation for his family's move to another neighborhood. Mike was instrumental in leading the ENPOA's warning and violation letters process, a key function in helping maintain our neighborhood's aesthetic appeal and ensuring resident compliance with city code and our legally binding controlling documents. Over the years, Mike helped educate residents and worked for resolution to address abandoned cars, dead trees, overgrown grass and lot maintenance, as well as act as liaison to the city for abandoned properties and other code needs. Simply put, Mike's experience and guidance was invaluable to the neighborhood and will be sorely missed. Good luck to you and your family, Mike, and thank you for all you've done for our neighborhood!
New Vice President: Longtime Board member Jason Van Meter has accepted the Board's nomination for the Vice President position vacated by Mike Lathrop. Jason, a two-term Board member and longtime Eagle Nest resident, is a private contractor by trade and has been a trusted neighborhood adviser for construction and contractor concerns. The Board congratulates Jason on his new role and thanks him for sharing his expertise. Click here to contact Jason if you have suggestions or concerns about the neighborhood.
New violations coordinator: Director Ben Smith has assumed duties for the warning and violations process. Ben works in code enforcement for the City of Indianapolis, so suffice to say he is well-versed in legally binding municipal rules and regulations, as well as our binding controlling documents. The Board welcomes Ben's guidance and looks forward to his efforts in keeping Eagle Nest the most desirable neighborhood on the Northeastside! Click here to contact Ben if you have suggestions or concerns about the neighborhood.
Vacated Board seat: As a result of Mike's vacated seat, the Board voted to nominate and accept resident Kim Isaak to fill the remainder of Mike's term, which expires in June. Kim is relatively new to the neighborhood and was among a handful of candidates who ran for open positions last year. Kim has joined in several social committee events since moving to Eagle Nest, including the annual Brew Fest at the Clubhouse. Knowing Kim's interest to engage with the neighborhood, the Board reached out to Kim and offered her the opportunity to serve the neighborhood, which she gladly accepted. Thanks for your help, Kim, and welcome aboard!
Annual meeting and elections: The Eagle Nest Annual Meeting and Board elections are set for 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at the Clubhouse. Three Director positions will be open with the expiring terms for Directors Brad Bobich, Judith Buddenbaum and Kim Isaak. (Brad and Judith have indicated they intend to run for re-election.) Watch your mailbox in the coming weeks for more information and an official ballot. In the meantime, keep an eye on our Events calendar listing for updated information, too.
