Board Update: Residents safe after house fire, Tuesday’s food truck, Clubhouse rental cleaning reminder
Eagle Nest residents,
Here’s a look at neighborhood news for the week of September 14:
RESIDENTS SAFE AFTER FIRE DAMAGES HOME: The Board is sad to report the home of longtime Eagle Nest residents Richard and Sheila Jackson, 8419 Sandpiper Court, was extensively damage by fire last week. The blaze started in the garage and extensively damaged the two-story structure. Thankfully, neither Richard nor Sheila (or their pet) was hurt, but you can imagine the emotional strain of such a catastrophe.
To help cover costs until the Jacksons’ insurance company steps in, the Board has set up a Go Fund Me page: Click here to donate. The hope is Eagle Nest residents will rally to support the Jacksons so they can enjoy a few meals, buy clothes, personal items, etc. Every dollar counts in a stressful time like this, so no donation is too small. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
UNION JACK COMING TUESDAY! Summer may be over, but our parade of food trucks at Clubhouse continues for your convenience. Who’s coming when:
- September 15: Union Jack Pub and Grub (5-8 p.m.). Renowned Broad Ripple favorite @UnionJackPub returns with their legendary tenderloins, pretzel bread sticks and queso, fish and chips, mac and cheese and more.
More food truck dates:
- September 23: Jet's Pizza (5-7 p.m.)
- September 29: Chef TLC (5-8 p.m.)
As always, please observe CDC guidelines on social distancing and use of masks, and be careful entering and leaving the Clubhouse parking lot. Also, the Board asks residents to park in the back lot to keep traffic pathways clear. Thank you!
A WORD (OR TWO) ABOUT CLUBHOUSE RENTALS: As we all know, COVID-19 has changed nearly aspect of life today. Heightened awareness and attention to maintaining the health and safety at facilities has never been more important, and that includes our neighborhood Clubhouse.
More information: Click here for a virtual tour. Click here for rental details.
The Board reminds all renters that the facility must be completely clean and disinfected after your event or risk the loss of part or all your deposit. This has always been Association policy, but current health concerns due to the pandemic make this contract requirement non-negotiable – no exceptions. Unfortunately, several renters this year lost their deposit because the facility wasn’t cleaned properly. Please respect our facility and ensure everything on the rental checklist is completed before returning the keys. Also, each person must sign a waiver form before attending your event. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Donors must wear a mask and bring photo ID.
- Appointments highly recommended, but walk-ins available time permitting.
- Versiti will enforce social distancing, increased sanitation procedures and pre-screening of all donors. Only healthy donors encouraged to participate.
- For donation and eligibility questions, email kpierce@versiti.org
That's it for now. As always, feel free to contact any Board member with questions, concerns or suggestions. Have a great week!
On behalf of the Board,
