Free swim lessons coming July 10-14 and July 17-21


Attention all Eagle Nest parents,

It's that time of year again -- free neighborhood swim lessons! Our lifeguard staff encourages you to enroll your little Eagle Nester(s) in this longtime neighborhood tradition to learn this important life skill.
 
We plan two consecutive weeks of daily basic instruction and water safety, perfect for first-timers and novice young swimmers.
 
Sessions are 30 minutes each, from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to noon, during the weeks July 10-14 and July 17-21. Spots are limited, and enrollment is first-come, first-served so don’t wait to sign up. (Residents in good standing only, per the Board.)
 
Sign-up sheets are posted at the pool, on the Clubhouse windows under the back deck. If you need help finding them, just ask one of the lifeguards! (As a reminder, our facility is open daily noon to 8 p.m.)

Hello, Eagle Nesters! The Board hopes your spring is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe with all the cold, rainy weather of April that the Pool will be open in barely a month. In preparation for that, it’s time to share a few updates about the 2024 swim season: Nearly a dozen residents turn out to deep clean the Pool A huge thanks goes out to the volunteer team led by Bittern Lane residents John and Cindy Spicklemire for organizing a deep clean of Pool facility on Saturday, April 27. The team of 12 spent hours power washing the chairs to address years of sunblock stains and removing wall grime, while others pulled weeds, cleaned the tables and swept up debris. In return, the Board brought in Jimmy John’s sandwiches, chips and water to keep our cleaning crew fueled up. That was a small price to pay for what would have cost thousands of dollars in labor and time to hire a contractor to do the same work. Board Update: Pool opening and Pool Party, annual dues reminder, new social events team, Hague Road entrance

Memorial Day is coming – and that means Pool season is upon us! We have lots to tell about our opening plans, so here goes: Pool opening: Noon to 8 p.m., Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Due to scheduling issues with our pool company, it was a scramble to get the facility power washed, cleaned and filled, so the water may be a little cold. Fingers crossed the rain holds off. Pool Party: Noon to 2 p.m. Memorial Day. Free hotdogs, chips, popsicles, lemonade, and beer for the adults. Weather: Given the rainy weather forecast for Monday, watch the blog and Facebook page for updates on postponements or closures. New Pool fobs: All residents in good standing can pick up their new Pool fobs from noon to 8 p.m. Monday. Board members will be set up on the concrete pad outside the gate. Board Update: Curb Appeal Award winners, inaugural Card Night on Oct. 10, live music Oct. 21 at Clubhouse!

The Board hopes everyone’s fall season is off to a great start. October is shaping up to be a busy month in Eagle Nest – read on! 2023 Curb Appeal Awards winners announced! The Board is proud to recognize the following lots as winners of our 2023 Curb Appeal Awards, presented to Eagle Nest owners for their outstanding lot and house maintenance. First place (tied): 8031 Teel Way , above left, (Lot 52, Clayton Napier) and 8111 Warbler Way , above right (Lot 229, Todd and Rokeena Williams).  Both homes underwent extensive exterior renovations in recent years, including new roofing, new siding, new paint, wood repair, landscaping and more (all pre-approved by the Rules and Restrictions Committee, by the way). The owners could have saved considerable money by moving to a newer home in another neighborhood, but they chose to stay and invest in their properties.
