Tanager Lane close to completion, but drive slowly and watch for “wrong way” traffic

Image
There's repaving progress to report in Eagle Nest -- and a word of caution. The progress: The west side of Tanager Lane was repaved Tuesday afternoon, meaning the job is half done. Department of Public Works (DPW) crews planned to start on the other side Wednesday, weather permitting. "Our operations crews were a little delayed in starting the project today because a piece of equipment broke down," said Dhara Marquez, the Mayor's Neighborhood Advocate for our area. We've asked her for any updates, including a confirmation that the job will include restoring the speed bumps. We'll let you know what we hear. While the work is underway, let's be sure to extend our usual neighborly grace as traffic patterns are shifted. It can be confusing: One neighbor entering Tanager from Teel Way at 3 p.m. on Tuesday was directed to stay off the new pavement, even though another crew down the street earlier said it was OK to use. Instead, our resident was directed to head ...

As previously mentioned in our last neighborhood email blast and on the Eagle Nest blog, our annual FREE swim lessons – a longtime neighborhood tradition – will be Monday through Friday, July 20-24, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Little Eagle Nesters (age 3+) are welcome to attend one or all five sessions. The sessions will include basic instruction and water safety, perfect for first-timers and novice young swimmers. Signup sheets are posted on the windows under the Clubhouse deck. Spots are limited, and enrollment is first-come, first-served so don’t wait to sign up. Thanks to our awesome lifeguard team for helping teach this important life skill to the next generation! (P.S.: Parents must stay for the entire session, as this is not a drop-and-go event. And don’t forget your Pool fob!)

Calling all Eagle Nest neighbors -- it's party time!

Proposed neighborhood amendment in mailboxes now! Finally! After more than a year of preparation, listening to resident feedback and working with our legal counsel, we distributed important updates to the neighborhood’s governing documents. On Sunday, July 12, all lot owners received in their mailbox the Board’s proposed amendment revision for review and – we hope – your approval. The proposal, prepared by our legal counsel KSN, seeks to update our controlling documents to address rental properties, street parking, commercial vehicles, and trash carts. Your envelope will contain a cover letter, a copy of the proposed revisions, and a proxy form to cast your vote. Your packet also includes a Fine Policy and Fee Schedule approved by the Board at the June Board meeting. Simply mark YES or NO for each of the proposed covenant revisions presented and return your ballot in one of the following ways: Drop in the Association's secure mailbox at 8075 Teel Way. Email a scanned/signed c...

This just in: Join us for our U.S. World Cup Soccer Watch Party, 8-10 p.m. Monday, July 6, at the Clubhouse. (Doors open at 7:30 p.m.). We know this is last minute, but a few patriotic neighbors reached out with the spontaneous suggestion in hopes the Board could pull together a community event. So here you go -- and what better way than to support our U.S. team just days after our nation's 250th birthday! We'll have free beer for adults and light snacks for everyone. Residents are welcome to bring a potluck of their favorite appetizers, too! Join us anytime and come and go as you please. Stay for a half or the whole game! GO USA!
