Holiday decorating winners

Thank you to everyone in the neighborhood who made our neighborhood more festive with holiday lights!  There were 154 homes in Eagle Nest who decorated their homes with lights and other decorations!   It was terribly difficult for the judges to choose, but the winner was the home of Brian and Brandy Schneider who live at 8331 Mockingbird Lane. The Schneiders received a $25 gift card from Target.  Second place honors went to the Hardie home at 7509 Teel Way.  Third place was the Schwegman home at 7816 Mallard Way; fourth place was the Schafer home at 8231 Osprey Ct.; and fifth place honors goes to the Kendall home at 8340 Heron.      Again thanks to all our residents that helped make our neighborhood look brighter during the holiday season.

Holiday electronics recycling event Jan. 12

The holidays mean gifts -- and for many that means electronics. That usually also means "out with the old, in with the new." But a new state law prohibits disposal of electronics at the curbside, forcing residents to seek other ways to get rid of their old TVs, computer equipment, stereos, phones, DVD players, etc. On Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, the City of Indianapolis will partner with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful to sponsor the 7th Annual Post Holiday Recycling Event. Drop-off is free. The following materials are accepted for recycling: > Live holiday trees: all lights, ornaments and decorations removed > Electronics: anything with a cord > Cardboard > White molded foam packaging The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following sites: > Broad Ripple Park - Main entrance > Ellenberger Park - Irvington, pool parking lot > Krannert Park - 605 S. High School Road > Garfield Park - Arts Center parking lot Questions? Contact Noelle Mal
