Eagle Nest pool seeks lifeguards

Want a great tan this summer and get paid for it? The Eagle Nest Pool now is accepting applications for certified lifeguards for the 2013 summer season.   Lifeguards will be responsible for lifeguarding duties, general pool and locker-room maintenance, and swim lessons (as directed by the pool manager).   Interested candidates must have current lifeguard certification, as well as CPR and First Aid training, and consent to a background check and/or drug screening. Those who take extended vacations or frequent weekend trips throughout the summer need not apply.     If interested, please contact Eagle Nest pool manager Susan Anderson at saanderson16@yahoo.com

Trivia Night for Adults - April 12

Eagle Nest's social committee has planned the first evening event for adults in our clubhouse on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m.   This is a trivia contest for teams of four people, so find some smart neighbors and form a team!  There will be a minimal $5 entry fee for each team which will be the prize for the winning team.   Not all of the team members have to be Eagle Nest residents either; just as long as at least two members of the team live in Eagle Nest.  Also, come up with a creative name for your team.   The social committee will provide all the snacks, but bring your own alcoholic drinks.   Email your team to board member Alice Miley by April 8th - alicemiley23@gmail.com

Eagle Nest Easter Egg Hunt is a success!

Eagle Nest's 2013 Easter Egg Hunt was held Sunday, March 24th between snow storms!  Approximately 20 kids found the 400 candy-filled eggs outside the clubhouse on the playground.  A good time was had by all!   Thanks to Activities Director Angi Corkwell for organizing this fun activity.

February board minutes posted; April meeting date set for April 21

Ever wonder what the Eagle Nest board of directors does? Check out the minutes from February's meeting by clicking on the "Board minutes" tab at right. Or, here's the link: http://eaglenestindy.blogspot.com/p/board-minutes.html (March minutes should be posted within the next few weeks). Also, a reminder that any Eagle Nest resident is welcome to attend our board meetings, held monthly at the neighborhood Clubhouse. It's a great way to meet your neighbors, share your questions/suggestions/concerns, and see what it takes to run a neighbhorhood our size. Our next meeting is 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 21, so if you plan to attend please send an email to Scott Thien at scottthien@comcast.net and we'll set aside time for you at the top of the meeting. Scouting for Food Drive scheduled for Sunday, April 7

Now that the snow has stopped -- which hopefully will melt by the weekend -- we're back on track for our Scouting for Food drive. On Sunday afternoon, April 7, neighborhood Cub Scout Pack 520 will be canvassing Eagle Nest to collect non-perishable food items. The scouts, accompanied by their parents, will be in search of donations for the Paw Pantry food pantry at Fall Creek Valley Middle School. The food pantry currently serves 19 Fall Creek Valley families, some of whom live in our area. The Paw Pantry uses your donations to provide nutritious and easy to cook food items that students can take home to their families on Friday afternoons. If you have items you would like to contribute, please leave them on the front step of your home clearly marked as "Scouting for Food". For your convenience, items also may be dropped at the Eagle Nest Clubhouse during the afternoon. Look for the drop box on the clubhouse's front step. The Eagle Nest Board endorses thi

Snow is coming -- keep our streets clear

Eagle Nest neighbors, As you know, a snow storm is expected to hit Indianapolis later today, with possible accumulations ranging from 4-7 inches. (We're hoping for less, of course) Please keep the roads clear so our snow plow contractors can do their jobs effectively. Please move your vehicles into your driveways and garages so plowing can occur without interference. Neither the Eagle Nest board nor it plowing contractors will be responsible for vehicles that are "plowed in" on streets. Further, please use extra caution when driving through the neighborhood and allow for extra stopping time at all intersections. The board will order salt for slick spots, as needed. Lastly, please be patient for the roads to be cleared. We have a big neighborhood and it takes time to plow all our roads. Further, we aren't our contractors' only customer, so we'll be in line like everyone else. To read more about Eagle Nest's snow plowing policy (revised January 20
