911 use topic of crime watch meeting
If you are interested in learning about the 911 emergency line and how it can help deter crime in Eagle Nest, please plan to attend a free meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, at Castleton United Methodist Church, 7101 N. Shadeland Ave. (Enter door #2 to the right of the main entrance). The guest speaker is Diana Vanarsdall of the Marion County Sheriffs Office/911 Communications. The objective of the meeting is to have an open discussion about how 911 is organized, how it works best and the reluctance some residents have to call until it may be too late. The following questions likely will be discussed: Have you ever called 911? Have you ever not called 911 but later wished that you did? What kept you from calling? What information should you be prepared to provide when you dial 911? What are the six W's of 911? (who, what, when, where, why and weapons?)
