Eagle Nest Neighborhood Garage Sale this weekend


Summer is here, and that means it’s time for the Annual Eagle Nest Neighborhood Garage Sale – this Friday through Sunday, June 6-8 (rain or shine). Pick your day or stay open for business all three!

Friday is the "preview" day, while Saturday and Sunday are the main sale days. Sale hours typically run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but residents are welcome to modify their hours of operation. It's the perfect chance to purge your closets, garage or attic (and maybe make a little bank in the process!).

To help grab attention, our Social Committee will be putting signs at all three entrances. Residents are encouraged to put signs in their yards or balloons on the mailboxes to signal potential buyers, as well. (Please remember to take down your signs afterward so we keep the neighborhood tidy.) Feel free to share our Facebook post, too!

Lastly, please use caution driving through the neighborhood this weekend, as we likely will see frequently stopping cars. Good luck with your sales, everyone!

82 nd Street road construction closure April 7-15 According to an April 2 release from the City of Indianapolis, 82 nd Street will be closed starting Monday, April 7, to Tuesday, April 15, between Craig Street and Castleton Road (basically between Speedway and Sparkling Image) for Nickel Plate Trail construction and railroad track removal. Each year, it gets harder and harder to pick the winners in the annual Holiday Lights Contest – and that’s a good thing. It’s so refreshing, uplifting and encouraging to see the spirit of the holidays on full display across the neighborhood, in big ways and small. This year’s panel of judges – a Board member’s relatives visiting from Florida and Belgium (no joke!) – were amazed by the effort so many homeowners put into decorating their lots and homes. Board Update: Pool Party with free food, new fob access, cleanup crew recap; Annual Garage Sale June 7-8; dues deadlines approaching and more!

Hello, Eagle Nesters! The Board hopes your spring is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe with all the cold, rainy weather of April that the Pool will be open in barely a month. In preparation for that, it’s time to share a few updates about the 2024 swim season: Nearly a dozen residents turn out to deep clean the Pool A huge thanks goes out to the volunteer team led by Bittern Lane residents John and Cindy Spicklemire for organizing a deep clean of Pool facility on Saturday, April 27. The team of 12 spent hours power washing the chairs to address years of sunblock stains and removing wall grime, while others pulled weeds, cleaned the tables and swept up debris. In return, the Board brought in Jimmy John’s sandwiches, chips and water to keep our cleaning crew fueled up. That was a small price to pay for what would have cost thousands of dollars in labor and time to hire a contractor to do the same work.
