A personal message from the Dixon family to donors of the GoFundMe house fire campaign

A message from the Dixon family to those who have contributed to our neighborhood GoFundMe campaign:
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support our family has received after the devastating fire that destroyed our home (on Tanager Lane). In a matter of moments we lost our house, two cars, and our two beloved dachshunds, and we are still trying to process it all.
During such a heartbreaking time, the kindness and generosity from our friends, neighbors, and community has meant more to us than words can express. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared the GoFundMe link, sent messages, and offered help in so many ways. Your compassion is helping us begin the long process of rebuilding our lives.
A special thank you to Eagle Nest HOA Board of Directors and President Scott Thien, who organized the fundraiser and rallied the community around us. We feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such caring people.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for lifting us up when we needed it most. We will never forget the love and support you have shown our family.
With gratitude,
The Dixon Family"

Editor's note: The Eagle Nest Board recently presented Elizabeth Dixon (pictured) with a $7,500 check from the GoFundMe account, as well as several other donations stuffed into our Clubhouse mailbox. Since it was started Feb. 21, the campaign has raised nearly $10,000 from more than 50 donors, including $1,000 from parishioners at nearby Castleton Christian Church, coordinated by Bittern Lane residents Sandy and Greg Warren.
It’s worth noting that the Dixons didn’t ask for a fundraiser — the Board just did it because that’s just what good neighbors do. A sad twist in all this: The Dixons actually contributed to the GoFundMe campaign established after our last neighborhood house fire, in 2023 on Tanager Court.
Like the Dixons, the Board thanks all donors for your generous contributions. Haven’t contributed yet? Please consider giving whatever you can and sharing the link before our GoFundMe campaign closes March 31. Thank you.
