Social events continue in Eagle Nest

Plan to celebrate the fall season with the next Eagle Nest social event, the Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Oct. 26th at 5 p.m. at the clubhouse. This fall festival will also include a Halloween Costume Contest for the kids.  Resident chefs who want to participate should bring a crock pot of their favorite chili.  There will be a $25 prize for the winner.  We'll have desserts and veggies too, but if attendees want adult beverages, it's BYOB.  Other social events to come include the Winter Bizarre with neighborhood Direct Sales Consultants on Sunday, Nov. 24 , from 1-5 p.m. at the clubhouse.  All direct sales consultants in the neighborhood are welcome to set up a table for their products.  If out -of-the-neighborhood consultants want to participate, the cost will be $15.  One donated item from each vendor will be part of a raffle for attendees. With the arrival of the new year, events will continue.  Come and taste what's brewing in the nei...

Painters, tree-removal firms, window replacemeny companies, roofing and construction repairers -- all will be coming out of the woodwork. The Eagle Nest Board has gotten a few recent calls about solicitors, so following are neighborly suggestions and reminders in case your doorbell rings: 1. Remind solicitors that the entire neighborhood is considered a "no soliciting" zone. Eagle Nest has "No Soliciting" signs posted at each entrance. Ask solicitors to please heed the message. 2. Explain to solicitors that those who disregard our request for a "no soliciting" zone could find themselves on our neighborhood "black list" of unwelcome vendors and services. 3. Residents have legal rights. If you have a "No Soliciting" sign on your property (i.e. door, window, etc.) and a solicitor enters your property, they are breaking the law. You have every right to ca...
