Register now or our March 16 Chili Cookoff and Beerfest could cancel

We get it, everyone's busy. So much going on all the time. That's why a few years ago we combined two of our most popular neighborhood events -- our Chili Cookoff and Beerfest -- into one, hoping a bigger event would draw bigger crowds. Unfortunately, that's not the case this year, because the number of registered participants is down from previous years. Maybe nobody likes chili or beer anymore (unlikely). Or maybe schedules just aren't working out this year (more likely). Either way, we'd like to see at least 30 people registered by Wednesday, March 13, or the Board will be forced to cancel the event for lack of support this year. (We have 15 at this writing.) On the fence about attending? Don't be -- grab a friend, pop down to the Clubhouse 5-9 p.m. Saturday, March 16, enter a pot of chili or taste some samples, down a beer (or two) and hang out with some of the coolest people around -- your Eagle Nest neighbors! Happy March, Eagle Nest residents! Here is your monthly neighborhood news summary (We’re trying to get back into a regular cadence of communications, but sometimes life gets in the way, right?). As always, be sure to watch our Eagle Nest blog and Facebook page for the latest updates. Calling all kid artists: Send us your wall art for the wading pool area! Have you seen the tired, faded wall art in the kiddie wading pool area? We’d like to spruce that up with a new look this Pool season! Now through March 31, the Board welcomes art submissions from our littlest Eagle Nesters. If your child likes to draw, send us their color illustration (Primary colors only, please, and the simpler the better because we need to transfer the illustration onto the wall.) We’ll pick the best three or four – and your child artist will get to sign the wall, too! Questions? Contact Board President Scott Thien at  scottthien@comcast.net .
