Sept. 19: Inaugural Eagle Nest Pickleball Tournament at our refurbished sports courts



Summer is winding down, but the competition will be heating up on our sports courts this month! Join us at noon Saturday, Sept. 19, for our inaugural Eagle Nest Pickleball Tournament at our beautifully refurbished sports courts!

Organized by longtime Tanager Lane resident Chuck Mayfield and sponsored by the Board of Directors, our first tournament is free and open to all skill levels, and residents are welcome to bring non-neighborhood players to join the fun. It’s a chance to show what a gem our neighborhood is, and how our residents embody the word community!


Extensive court repairs

It’s also a great way to unveil our newly refurbished sports courts, a three-month project led by Clubhouse Manager Kelly Dentler in the east end of our Clubhouse grounds. Our contractor ground out and refilled multiple deep cracks, smoothed out the playing surface, and sealed and repainted both courts with striping for tennis and pickleball, the first extensive repairs in eight years. Early feedback from those who have played on our facility say it rivals Lawrence North’s top-of-the-line courts! (Please help us keep the facility clean by packing out your trash and water bottles.)

We’ll have cold bottled water, energy bars and other light refreshments on hand. There’s plenty of free parking, of course. If you plan to attend, please send a courtesy RSVP email to Chuck at cmayfield@comcast.net so we can create a bracket of matches.

Open practice Thursdays

Feeling rusty or don’t know how to play? Chuck encourages interested neighborhood players to join him at 7 p.m. the next two Thursdays – Sept. 10 and Sept. 17 – for open pickleball play and practice.

As previously announced on our blog and Facebook page, the Annual Meeting and Board election is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at our Clubhouse. All residents in good standing (whose annual dues are paid) are welcome to attend. The meeting will begin with regular business, officer and committee reports, then close with new business and a tally of election ballots. Board May update: Pool opening, pool fobs, dues update, Board election, tennis court repairs, neighborhood garage sale

Memorial Day is the traditional unofficial start of summer — and that means a lot of upcoming activities in Eagle Nest! A quick rundown of what to expect: Pool opening: The good news? The Pool will be open daily noon to 8 p.m., starting Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Popsicles and adult beverages will be available for kids and adults, respectively, that first day. P lease familiarize yourself with our  Pool rules here . Questions? Contact new Co-Pool Managers Ken Burns (daily operations and facility maintenance) or Andrew Taylor (administration and Pool fobs).  The bad news? Our heater is on the fritz, so the water will be chilly. Our team is seeking bids for a replacement unit, but it may take several weeks before we figure out next steps. Pray for warmer weather soon! Eagle Nest Board update for April 2026: dues, streetlights, potholes, suspicious vehicles, upcoming events and more

Now that spring has sprung in Eagle Nest, summer isn’t far behind – barely two months away! With that, the Board has a few updates and event announcements to pass along: Package delivery alert: Suspicious vehicles trolling streets If you order from Amazon or other delivery sites, take note: Residents along Warbler Way recently reported suspicious vehicles (shown) driving slowly along the street, possibly looking for packages. One vehicle even tailed a U.S. Postal Service truck for blocks as it made its deliveries one day. If you expect a package to be delivered while you are away or at work, the Board suggests you ask a neighbor to grab the package for you or time your deliveries for when you are home.
