July 4th Parade and Celebration- June 29th

Eagle Nest continues our tradition of celebrating the 4th of July at our regular Family Fun Night on Thursday at the pool.  So, on Thursday, June 29, at 6 p.m., we will decorate bikes and wagons with patriotic   streamers and parade down Teel Way around 6:30.  Then at 7 p.m., we will have a pitch-in dinner at the pool.  ENPOA will provide hot dogs and buns, chips, and drinks.   Residents should bring a side dish.  This will be the only Thursday that Jet's Pizza will NOT be here.   Let's celebrate our country! submitted by Alice Miley

Reminder to cast your election ballot -- and vote on proposed rule changes

Fellow residents, A friendly reminder that ballots for our Annual Meeting and proposed neighborhood rules changes are due by 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25 , at the Clubhouse. Simply drop your signed ballot (with lot number) in the Clubhouse mailbox, and we'll add your vote to the dozens that already have been cast. Or, better yet, hand-deliver your ballot to the Board and stay for our meeting! It's worth noting that our proposed changes have attracted overwhelming support from those who have cast ballots so far. In fact, voter participation is higher at this point leading up to the election than it has been in recent years, so your Board obviously gotten your attention with our suggested neighborhood rules changes. Many of you were considerate enough to include hand-written comments, and none has been critical of our efforts (so far). A sampling: From the 7800 block of Teel Way: "Keep it up guys! Thanks! We care!" From the 8000 block of Tanager Lane: " This is...

Jet's Pizza - Thursdays 5-7

Remember that Jet's Pizza is selling $5 cheese, pepperoni, or sausage pizzas at the clubhouse on Thursdays throughout the summer.  If it is raining during the 5-7 p.m. time period, they will sell from inside the clubhouse door.  The only night this summer that Jet's Pizza will not sell pizzas will be on Thursday, June 29, when we will have our annual Fourth of July Parade and Picnic.  The Social Committee will provide hot dogs, chips, and drinks, and we ask residents to pitch-in a dish.   The parade will begin at 6 p.m., and the picnic will follow.  Enjoy the pool and plan not to cook dinner on Thursdays! submitted by Alice Miley

Ice Cream Social- Sunday, June 4, 3-5 p.m.

Celebrate the beginning of summer and the Eagle Nest pool at the ice cream social on Sunday, June 4, from 3-5 p.m.  Social committee members will serve ice cream and toppings in the pool eating area.  The weather is looking better for the weekend, but if we are rained out, we will serve ice cream the next Sunday afternoon.  Family Fun Nights begin on Thursday, June 8, with ENPOA providing some yummy cupcakes in the pool eating area.  We'll serve the cupcakes at 7 p.m.  Thursday night will be the first night for Jet's Pizza!  Jet's will sell personal size pizzas for $5 - cheese, pepperoni, sausage- from 5- 7 p.m.  Enjoy!! Also, the weather looks great for our garage sales.  Don't forget you can take whatever doesn't sell to the van in the LN parking lot for the band's rummage sale. submitted by Alice Miley

UPDATE: Pool open for Memorial Day

UPDATE 10 p.m.: Great news -- the Eagle Nest Pool will be open for use on Memorial Day! Our newly installed pump motor is running perfectly, thanks to the quick action of Pool Manager Susan Anderson and her industry contacts. Residents should find mostly clear water, but pool use might be limited to the shallow end if our lifeguard staff can't see the bottom of the deep end. It all depends on how much storm debris falls in the pool overnight and how quickly our filtration system can recover. The Board would like to thank all residents for their patience and understanding during this unexpected service delay. A shout-out and thank you also goes out to our Pool staff for scrambling to get our nearly 40-year-old facility up and running so quickly. We look forward to seeing you at the Pool this summer. All the best to you and your families this Memorial Day. Thanks, too, to all our veterans for their service and sacrifice this holiday. The Eagle ...
