Do you recognize this lost dog?

Image
** UPDATE** No one came forward to claim this dog, so he was taken to the Hamilton County Animal Shelter where he was quickly adopted by a new family. .......................................................... This young male bloodhound dog was found 2/21/13 in the Fountain Villages neighborhood off 86th Street, just south of Geist Landing. He had a bright orange metal tie attached to his choke chain, but no collar or microchip. If you recognize him or know his owner, please contact Julie Dunlap by phone at 696-1035. (Julie messaged your favorite neighborhood association blog in hopes an Eagle Nest resident could help find the dog's home). Submitted by Scott Thien

Do you compost? Want to learn how?

These might seem like crazy questions in mid-February, but spring will be here before you know it and that means time to prepare the garden, flower beds, landscape plantings and more. The Eagle Nest Garden Club is ready to dig in, too. Next month, on March 11, the club will host local composting expert Keith O'Dell during its regular monthly  meeting. O'Dell, of Fishers, will share tips on composting, and how red worms can benefit the organic process and improve the overall health of your landscape. Read more about O'Dell's work on his website: www.castawaycompost.com The garden club meets at 7 p.m. the second Monday of every month at the Clubhouse. The meetings are free and open to any Eagle Nest resident. Questions may be directed to club president Claudette Lane at jklane@att.net Submitted by Scott Thien

Before you start your property improvements, contact the Eagle Nest R&R committee

As spring approaches, the Eagle Nest Board reminds residents that our covenants require all property owners obtain advance approval of any property improvements, additions, renovations or installations. The latter reference includes but is not limited to fences, decks, mini-barns and porches. Written requests should to be submitted the Review and Restriction Committee 30 days before construction begins to afford proper review and written approval. Written approval from the committee is recommended to avoid any corrective actions that may require additional materials, costs or affect your project’s scheduled completion. Here’s what’s required: 1) Two (2) complete sets of plans and specifications for the proposed construction or improvement. 2) Such plans shall include plot plans showing the location of existing improvements and the location of the proposed improvement to be constructed or placed upon the lot, each properly and clearly designated. 3) Such plans and specification

Keep EN pets controlled

This is a reminder to dog owners in the neighborhood that dogs are to be kept reasonably confined by a leash or by a fence.  Dogs should not be a nuisance to residents walking in the neighborhood. There have been reports of dogs causing anxious moments for neighbors walking on the sidewalk.  All pet owners need to be good neighbors by being considerate of other residents. Eagle Nest residents can contact the Mayor's Action Line at (317) 327-4622 for questions or issues relative to Animal Care and Control in Marion County. Submitted by Alice Miley
