Hungry? Here’s our food truck lineup next 2 weeks


Eagle Nest residents, 

We hope everyone is hanging in there with all the social distancing and stay-at-home orders. It's been tiring and depressing, we know, which is why we’re excited to share our food truck lineup for the next two weeks! Mark your calendars for:

· Wednesday, April 8: Tijuana Flats (lunch, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). $10 entrees (choice of burrito, two tacos, a rice bowl, big nachos or chopped salad, in choice of beef, chicken or bean). They also will have family-style Taco Kits available with all the toppings.
· Saturday, April 11: Jet’s Pizza (dinner, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) $5 personal pizzas (sausage, pepperoni or cheese). Cash only.
· Thursday, April 16: Bagel Boss (dinner, 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.) $6-$8 for a variety of steamed New York-style bagel sandwiches. Several extra sides available.
· Saturday, April 18: Tijuana Flats (dinner, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.). Same menu as above.

Note: Per current CDC guidelines, please observe proper social distancing in the “to-go” line when you place/retrieve your food order. We know you get it, but it’s just a reminder, especially for newcomers.

We’ve received great feedback about our vendor rotation so far, but we’re always looking for more options. Hello, Eagle Nesters! The Board hopes your spring is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe with all the cold, rainy weather of April that the Pool will be open in barely a month. In preparation for that, it’s time to share a few updates about the 2024 swim season: Nearly a dozen residents turn out to deep clean the Pool A huge thanks goes out to the volunteer team led by Bittern Lane residents John and Cindy Spicklemire for organizing a deep clean of Pool facility on Saturday, April 27. The team of 12 spent hours power washing the chairs to address years of sunblock stains and removing wall grime, while others pulled weeds, cleaned the tables and swept up debris. In return, the Board brought in Jimmy John’s sandwiches, chips and water to keep our cleaning crew fueled up. That was a small price to pay for what would have cost thousands of dollars in labor and time to hire a contractor to do the same work. Board Update: Pool opening and Pool Party, annual dues reminder, new social events team, Hague Road entrance

Memorial Day is coming – and that means Pool season is upon us! We have lots to tell about our opening plans, so here goes: Pool opening: Noon to 8 p.m., Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Due to scheduling issues with our pool company, it was a scramble to get the facility power washed, cleaned and filled, so the water may be a little cold. Fingers crossed the rain holds off. Pool Party: Noon to 2 p.m. Memorial Day. Free hotdogs, chips, popsicles, lemonade, and beer for the adults. Weather: Given the rainy weather forecast for Monday, watch the blog and Facebook page for updates on postponements or closures. New Pool fobs: All residents in good standing can pick up their new Pool fobs from noon to 8 p.m. Monday. Board members will be set up on the concrete pad outside the gate. Be sure to bring your ID and lot number. Reminder: Only residents whose dues have been paid and cleared can obtain fobs. Want more fob info? Check your mailbox. Board Update: Curb Appeal Award winners, inaugural Card Night on Oct. 10, live music Oct. 21 at Clubhouse!

The Board hopes everyone’s fall season is off to a great start. October is shaping up to be a busy month in Eagle Nest – read on! 2023 Curb Appeal Awards winners announced! The Board is proud to recognize the following lots as winners of our 2023 Curb Appeal Awards, presented to Eagle Nest owners for their outstanding lot and house maintenance. First place (tied): 8031 Teel Way , above left, (Lot 52, Clayton Napier) and 8111 Warbler Way , above right (Lot 229, Todd and Rokeena Williams).  Both homes underwent extensive exterior renovations in recent years, including new roofing, new siding, new paint, wood repair, landscaping and more (all pre-approved by the Rules and Restrictions Committee, by the way). The owners could have saved considerable money by moving to a newer home in another neighborhood, but they chose to stay and invest in their properties.
