Food trucks Thursday and Saturday: ChefTLC, Greiner’s Subs and MAC Genie are coming!

Enjoying good food is a hard habit to break, especially when it comes right to your doorstep (the Clubhouse, actually). As state and local shelter-in-place orders continue, so is the Eagle Nest Board’s convenient – and tasty – rotation of food trucks. On tap this week:

ChefTLC, Thursday, May 7, 5-8 p.m.: Forget the food truck – ChefTLC is a food bus, literally! Popular at area churches, local owners Tonya and Reggie Coleman will be serving up their home-cooked menu of soul/comfort food: grilled hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, hand-breaded tenderloins, chicken wraps, chick strips, even a Beyond Burger (meatless), all ala carte for $8 or with a choice of sides including french fries, onion pedals, mushrooms, jalapeno poppers or fried ravioli for $3 each. 24-ounce Faygo drinks also will be sold. Oh, and peach cobbler!

Check out their Facebook page and Instagram accounts to see just how good their food looks!

NEW DATE! -- GREINER’S subs and MAC Genie, Saturday, May 9, 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.: An institution since 1969, Indy’s oldest sub sandwich shop is bringing two menus in one food truck! That’s right, GREINER’s subs ($9.50 to $10.50) and MAC Genie (pan-made-to-order mac and cheese, starting at $9.50) to our neighborhood. Small salads also will be available.

GREINER’S and MAC Genie are proud, popular members of the Indy Food Truck Alliance (IFTA) and have been seen all over the metro area. Check out their Facebook and Instagram accounts.

As always, please respect CDC guidelines on social distancing during ordering and pickup. Also, please use caution entering and exiting the Clubhouse parking lot. Please park in the back lot to prevent vehicle congestion.

If you have food truck contacts or suggestions, please contact Board President Scott Thien at scottthien@comcast.net. In the meantime, watch the Eagle Nest blog and Facebook page for more neighborhood outreach efforts as we work through the COVID-19 crisis. Stay safe, stay healthy!
