Eagle Nest teen hosts clothing drive for scout project

Want to help the local community from the convenience of our neighborhood? Bennett Dobrota of Shrike Court is coordinating a clothing drive for his Eagle Scout project and would appreciate your donations of any new or gently used clothing items (no shoes, please). Two green collection cans will be available on the Clubhouse front porch until Friday, May 30. Thank you in advance for your support!

Breaking Eagle Nest news! Free Kona Ice treats are coming to the Clubhouse on Memorial Day! That’s right -- from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday in the Clubhouse front parking lot, the Board is treating every little Eagle Nester (OK, adults, too) to a free 8-ounce shaved ice cup. And here’s the fun part: You can pour on your favorite flavors from a wide range of self-serve choices. Simply show your Pool fob to get your freebie. (One cup per person, please.) We’ve invited Kona Ice to the Clubhouse before, and it was a huge hit among families. With temperatures expected near 70 degrees, this will be a tasty start to a fun afternoon at the Pool. Enjoy!

The event Eagle Nest residents have been waiting for is finally here! No, not the Indy 500, not Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals for our Pacers – we’re talking about today’s opening of our 2025 Pool season! Starting today at noon, Sunday, May 25, residents in good standing are welcome to enjoy our neighborhood’s most popular amenity! Five things you need to know about our Pool opening: No. 1: Pool access fob required. As a reminder, last year the Board eliminated the plastic pool tags in favor of issuing one electronic access fob per lot. If you paid your dues and your payment has cleared, your fob will be activated and ready to swipe at the front gate. If it doesn’t work, contact Board Vice President Jason Van Meter at jpvanmeter@sbcglobal.net or Board President Scott Thien at scottthien@comcast.net . No. 2: We are open daily! Unlike the nearby Sahm Park Aquatic Center or other area neighborhood pools, our facility will be open daily from noon to 8 p.m. daily. Thanks to our aw...

Four residents declare candidacy for Eagle Nest Board election

As previously reported on your favorite neighborhood blog, three Board of Directors seats are up for election at the Annual Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Clubhouse. In the weeks ahead, please watch your U.S. mailbox for your official Eagle Nest election ballot to cast your vote(s). Following are bios for four residents who have declared their candidacy, including current Board member Susan Millender who is seeking re-election: Deana Armstrong, 7723 Mallard Way (Lot 128) I am writing to express my strong interest in serving as a Homeowners Association (HOA) Board member. As a resident of 7723 Mallard Way for 4 years, I have a deep appreciation for our community and a vested interest in ensuring its continued well-being and prosperity. During my time here, I have been an active member of the community. As you are aware, I currently volunteer my time and talents as the Crime Watch Coordinator for ENPOA. I am active in my parish, my career with law enforcement, and I parti...

Board Update May 2025: Pool fob details, dues reminder, 2024 homes sales prices, Board election reminder, 82nd St. closure

Pool opening, fob activation on target for May 25 Hard to believe with the recent cooler temperatures that our Pool is scheduled to open in less than three weeks! But when we do, Pool Manager Samantha Burns reports we should be at full staff! That means our fantastic facility will be open daily from noon to 8 p.m. through most of August! Now would be a good time to locate your Pool security access fob so you have it ready on opening day. Keep in mind, your fob will only work if your annual dues have been paid (and no you can’t pay the same day and expect to get in, as it takes a few days to process.) If you’re new to Eagle Nest since last September, please contact Board Vice President Jason Van Meter at jpvanmeter@sbcglobal.net to make arrangements to secure your fob. (Sorry, one fob per lot.) If you lost your fob, lot owners will need to pay a replacement/programming fee. Note: If you leave your blue Republic garbage cart or boat or trailer out for all to see, be forewarned that your...
