Hello Eagle Nest residents, Here is a look at neighborhood news for the week of April 19: YOU HUNGRY? FOOD TRUCK SEASON IS COMING! Remember those 50 food truck visits to the Clubhouse last summer? Well, good news – we’re planning for the return of the most requested vendors starting in June. We’re excited to announce one of our first and most popular – ChefTLC, aka the Faith Food Bus – will kick things off on Tuesday, June 1, 5-7 p.m. ChefTLC will roll out its signature comfort food menu of XL pork tenderloins sandwiches, burgers, steak and cheese sandwiches, chicken tenders, chicken wraps, even a meatless Beyond Burger. Great fried sides, too, like french fries, sweet potato fries, onion petals, mushrooms and cheese-filled ravioli. Drinks include 24-ounce Faygo products, sweet tea and more. We’ve received great feedback about residents’ favorite food trucks, so keep those suggestions coming to scottthien@comcast.net . Hello Eagle Nest residents, Here is a look at neighborhood news for the week of April 5: A WORD (OR TWO) ABOUT OUR NEW SIGNAGE POLICY Thanks to the dozens of residents who recently submitted sign approval requests in observance of our new Signage Policy . The Board appreciates your cooperation and observance of these new neighborhood rules. In general, we’ve received great support of the policy, the goal of which is to protect neighborhood aesthetics, prevent outdated messaging (i.e., contractors and political races), and avoid front yards cluttered with commercial billboards. Of course, we’re had a few residents concerned that the Board was overstepping its reach or trying to infringe on personal rights. That’s not true. We simply don’t want to see outdated or damaged signs lingering for months, something neighbors have complained about. So, we acted. The policy gives wide latitude on signs – but it has to start with a request. That literally takes five minutes – just snap a photo of ...

REMINDER: STORE YOUR GARBAGE ROLLCART OUT OF SIGHT Now that the nice weather is here (hopefully to stay!), we know more residents have been cleaning out garages and getting a jump on yard work. Unfortunately, more residents have made a habit of storing their Republic trash and recycling roll carts in the open -- in the driveway, on front sidewalks, or on the front corner of a garage in plain view of the development. Not just once in a while, but all the time. Such placement violates our Declarations of Restrictions (Section 5F), one of the legally binding documents that governs our development. We're not talking about one or two houses with carts in plain view; a recent inspection of the development found more than 50 homes in violation. That’s not a good look for the neighborhood. Hello Eagle Nest residents, Here is a look at neighborhood news for the week of March 15: SUSPICIOUS MAIL INCIDENT ON TEEL, PHOTOGRAPHER ON WARBLER WAY This afternoon, Monday, March 15, a resident in the 7700 block of Teel Way noticed a black SUV traveling North on Teel Way stopping at every mail box and either taking or delivering items. It seemed odd, according to the resident, because it did not appear to be an official postal vehicle. This incident comes on the heels of last week’s report of a suspicious person who walked onto the driveway of a home in the 8400 block of Tanager Lane to take photos of vehicles. Nothing was taken and no one was hurt, and the trespasser drove away in a blue minivan/SUV-type vehicle. Turns out, a resident on Warbler Way reported a similar incident that same week, so please keep your vehicles locked and ensure valuables are out of sight at all times. Here’s a look at neighborhood news for the week of March 8: BOARD UPDATES SIGNAGE POLICY; COPY COMING IN MAIL From the not-so-interesting-but-important-to-know category: The Board recently updated the Development’s Signage Policy and recorded it with Marion County as part of our legally binding Declarations of Restrictions. Click here to read the updated Signage Policy . A copy also will be mailed to all residents in the next week or so. Why should residents care? We all have an interest in maintaining the neighborhood’s aesthetics, and that means keeping our lots, intersections and common grounds free of excessive, worn or distracting signage, particularly yard signs with expired messaging. Hello Eagle Nest residents, Here’s a look at neighborhood news for the week of February 22: A WORD (OR TWO) ABOUT SNOW REMOVAL We hope everyone stayed safe during the last week’s back-to-back snowfalls, a challenging two days with accumulations ranging from 7 to 9 inches and unusually cold temperatures. The Board thanks residents for their cooperation in keeping the streets clear so our plowing contractors could do their jobs safely and efficiently. Unfortunately, there were a few homeowners who didn’t comply with our request to move vehicles, and that impeded our snow-removal efforts in areas. Overall, though, things worked as planned. In case you’re wondering, here’s our approach to plowing: Anything over 3 inches is plowed, depending on forecast. The main thoroughfare of Teel Way is plowed first before any courts. Courts initially receive one plow blade into the cul-de-sac and back out to provide emergency vehicle access, not a complete clearing. This is done so all courts have acce...

Hello Eagle Nest residents, Here’s a look at neighborhood news for the week of February 15: BE CONSIDERATE, BE SAFE: MOVE VEHICLES BEFORE IT SNOWS With the potential for heavy snowfall this week, the Board kindly asks all residents keep our streets clear of vehicles so our plowing contractor can do his work quickly, safely and efficiently. Unfortunately, several residents left their vehicles in the road during the last snow, resulting in hazardous piles of snow and ice around plowed in vehicles, many of which haven’t been moved since. (Some have expired plates, too, so we suggest you move them asap or they will be reported to the city for towing.) Areas of concern: 7900 block of Shrike Court 7800 block of Teel Way 8400 block of Sandpiper Court 8300 block of Heron Court 7800 block of Tanager Lane 8000 block of Bittern Lane Please, be considerate.
