Theft alert: UPS packages stolen on Hummingbird Court

Image
Theft alert! On Thursday, Jan. 4, two packages delivered by UPS were stolen from a resident’s front porch about 10 minutes after delivery on Hummingbird Court. The homeowner who reported the incident stated, “The individual was very bold in the theft today and did not act alone.” If you are expecting a delivery while you are away, the Board suggests you alert a neighbor to be on the lookout for you. Eagle Nest isn’t known for such trouble (or worse, thankfully), but we all know crime knows no boundaries. If you live on Hummingbird Court and have a security camera pointed toward the street or saw anything unusual Thursday, please contact any Board member . And as always, if you ever see anything suspicious in our development, please call 911 immediately.

The winners of the 2023 Holiday Lights Contest are ...

Every year, judging for our annual Holiday Lights Contest gets tougher and tougher, and 2023 was no exception. This year’s challenge: sizing up more than 100 homes with lot decorations in a variety of colorful shapes, sizes and configurations, some traditional, some creative, all a colorful sign of season. Our independent judge from out-of-state (a former resident, no less!) struggled with all the choices, but after applying stringent judging criteria and washing it through our patented AI matrix, she came up with the following results: 1ST PLACE: 8250 Warbler Way (Tom and Cindy Corbett) Judge’s comment: "Last year's second-place finisher – and previous five-time winner – reclaims the top spot, though barely as competition was stiff all across the neighborhood. This is the property to beat every year.” 2ND PLACE: 8133 Bittern Lane (Kevin and Bronwyn Caddell) Judge's comment: "This display was simply a gem with an eye-popping mix of yard and landscape lighting. The M...

Residents safe after fire damages Tanager Court home; Board launches GoFundMe page for family donations

Image
As many of you probably have heard, the Hernandez-Ramirez family home at 8104 Tanager Court, was extensively damaged by fire Sunday morning, Dec. 10. Thankfully, no one suffered serious injuries, which is remarkable given Indianapolis Fire Department reported that several children had to jump out of second-story windows into the arms of family members below. The cause of the blaze was not immediately available, but you can imagine the emotional and financial strain of such a catastrophe just two weeks before Christmas. To help the family buy clothes, personal items and get reestablished, the Board set up a Go Fund Me page, raising nearly $4,000 in one month!  Suffice to say, the family was extremely grateful for everyone's generosity in their time of need.  Some residents may recall the Board hosted a similar effort for residents whose home on Sandpiper Court burned in September 2020, and we raised an impressive $1,600. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity....

Hello neighbors, Your Eagle Nest Board hopes everyone’s holiday season is off to a great start! Hard to believe it’s December already – seems like just yesterday we were enjoying beautiful fall weather. In keeping with tradition, we’re excited to announce several holiday events for our neighborhood families to enjoy this month. Save these dates and plan to join us for: Sunday, Dec. 10 (1-3 p.m.): Cookies with Santa! That’s right, the jolly old guy and his wife Mrs. Claus are returning to the Clubhouse for our annual cookie-fest with chocolate milk for the kids, and Mimosas and coffee with Bailey’s for the adults. We’ll have tables set up for the kids to decorate their own cookies, too. This is the perfect chance to snap some holiday photos, share your wish list with Santa and meet other Eagle Next residents. This event keeps getting bigger and bigger, so don’t miss out! Wednesday, Dec. 20 (4-6 p.m.): Santa’s Neighborhood Drive-thru! As in years past, Santa will ride his sleigh (OK, ...

The Board hopes everyone’s fall season is off to a great start. October is shaping up to be a busy month in Eagle Nest – read on! 2023 Curb Appeal Awards winners announced! The Board is proud to recognize the following lots as winners of our 2023 Curb Appeal Awards, presented to Eagle Nest owners for their outstanding lot and house maintenance. First place (tied): 8031 Teel Way , above left, (Lot 52, Clayton Napier) and 8111 Warbler Way , above right (Lot 229, Todd and Rokeena Williams).  Both homes underwent extensive exterior renovations in recent years, including new roofing, new siding, new paint, wood repair, landscaping and more (all pre-approved by the Rules and Restrictions Committee, by the way). The owners could have saved considerable money by moving to a newer home in another neighborhood, but they chose to stay and invest in their properties. Clearly, the time and effort paid off, as both lots are shining examples of how to bring out the best in a property. Projects li...
