Come celebrate playground dedication, then join our Colts game watch party!

By now, many of you probably have seen all the construction activity at the Clubhouse. Our Playground installation project is well underway, and, weather permitting, should be completed within the next week.

That means it's time to party! Save the date: Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014.

Yes, the Eagle Nest Social Committee is planning a big dual event to mark the occasion -- a Playground Dedication Party outside for the kids, and a Colts Watch Party in the Clubhouse for the adults. Here's what the Social Committee has planned so far:
  • Playground Dedication Party (outside Clubhouse): starts at 3 p.m. There will be little prizes for every kid, light refreshments and a group picture at 3:30 p.m. to mark occasion. This is the first major Eagle Nest grounds improvement in decades, so we want to start things of right. Thanks, of course, to all residents for their patience during the project. It has taken longer than expected, but the results will be worth it!
  • Colts Watch Party (inside Clubhouse): starts at 4 p.m. (kickoff at 4:25 p.m.). Whether you're a Colts fan or not, bring your favorite (adult) beverage and soak in some NFL camaraderie with our newly installed big screen TV! There will be complimentary sub sandwiches, chips and lemonade. It's a pitch-in, too, so everyone who attends please bring a side dish or desert. Even if you can't stay the whole game, stop by and say hello, meet some neighbors and Board members, have a snack and best of all, see why Eagle Nest is the best neighborhood on the city's Northeastside!
Remember, that's Sunday, Oct. 26! Be there!

Sunday?  Anyway, the info for the playground dedication is still at 3 p.m. and the Colts party at 4 p.m.  I don't think we're doing a chili cook-off, but instead get sub sandwiches from Walmart and everyone bring an appetizer or dessert.  It will be BYOB.  At the dedication, I hope you can come because I think it's appropriate that you say a few words!   I know you can write something snazzy without much effort!  Thanks,  Alice

The Board hopes everyone’s fall season is off to a great start. October is shaping up to be a busy month in Eagle Nest – read on! 2023 Curb Appeal Awards winners announced! The Board is proud to recognize the following lots as winners of our 2023 Curb Appeal Awards, presented to Eagle Nest owners for their outstanding lot and house maintenance. Board update: Pool closing Labor Day, annual dog swim, Curb Appeal Awards, live music coming to Clubhouse!

Pool closes Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4  All good things come to and end, as the saying goes, and that includes our 2023 Pool season. Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4, is the last day of operation for our facility, with hours from noon to 8 p.m. It’s been a great summer of swimming, despite a few mechanical and staffing issues, so please be sure to thank Pool Manager Samantha Burns and her lifeguard staff for a job well done. For the most part, our facility was staffed and open daily the entire summer, unlike many of the city’s public pools – including nearby Sahm Park. We hope to see all our guards back next year, but if you know someone interested in joining the Eagle Nest Pool staff, please contact Samantha. In the meantime, enjoy these last days of swimming! The winners of the 2023 Holiday Lights Contest are ...

Every year, judging for our annual Holiday Lights Contest gets tougher and tougher, and 2023 was no exception. This year’s challenge: sizing up more than 100 homes with lot decorations in a variety of colorful shapes, sizes and configurations, some traditional, some creative, all a colorful sign of season. Our independent judge from out-of-state (a former resident, no less!) struggled with all the choices, but after applying stringent judging criteria and washing it through our patented AI matrix, she came up with the following results: 1ST PLACE: 8250 Warbler Way (Tom and Cindy Corbett) Judge’s comment: "Last year's second-place finisher – and previous five-time winner – reclaims the top spot, though barely as competition was stiff all across the neighborhood.
