Annual Eagle Nest Party - Sunday, Aug. 4

We are celebrating another great summer in Eagle Nest on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 1 p.m. at the clubhouse.  We will provide fried chicken from Kroger and hot dogs for the kids, along with lemonade and beer for the adults.  We ask that residents bring side dishes to fill out the menu.  Pool manager, Samantha Burns, will coordinate some pool games from 2-2:30 p.m.   This is a great opportunity to meet new neighbors and reconnect with longtime residents.    It will be great weather, so come for the celebration!

Baby pool scheduled to reopen on Friday

Attention families, Good news! The Baby Pool is scheduled to reopen on Friday, July 26. The facility was closed last week because of water-quality issues. It passed our weekly sample test on Tuesday. To ensure the health and safety of our residents, please keep soiled diapers out of our pools, and report any issues to our lifeguard staff immediately. We appreciate your cooperation, as well as your patience during the weeklong closure. We hope you are enjoying our community facility. Hard to believe we only have about six weeks left to swim this season. Where has the summer gone? The Eagle Nest Board

A heads-up to all Eagle Nest residents: Please check your mailbox this weekend for your complimentary copy of the 2019-2020 Eagle Nest Directory! The 64-page booklet is your official guide to our wonderful neighborhood, complete with street and lot maps, homeowner contact information and handy phone numbers. The directories, sporting a white cover with the Eagle Nest logo on the front, will be delivered Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon to each resident's mailbox. Please be sure to remove your directory this weekend! A big thank you to Secretary/Bookkeeper Chris’e Van Meter and Board member Brian Schneider for working hard to keep our directory up to date! If you don't receive a directory by Monday, or your copy is damaged, please send an email to enpoa_sec@att.net and we'll get a copy to you. The Board of Directors

Reminder about those blue garbage roll carts ...

Eagle Nest residents, We know life is busy, and some days there never seems to be enough hours in the day to get caught up on daily chores. But the Board has a small request we could use everyone's help with: Please store your blue garbage and recycling roll carts in the garage or out of sight from the front of the development. We've gotten a lot of feedback lately about residents who habitually store the carts in their driveways, front sidewalks or on the front corner of a garage in plain view. Aside from being an eyesore to neighbors, it's actually not permitted, per our Declarations of Restrictions (Section 5F), one of the legally binding documents that governs our development. We understand that life happens, that people go on vacation, that neighbors forget to put the carts away when you can't. We know putting the carts away may be inconvenient, especially during inclement weather, but your Board is charged with enforcing our covenants to promote resident h

Good news: The main Pool is open again! Bad news on the baby pool ...

Eagle Nest residents, The Pool is open today -- just in time for what is expected to be the hottest day of the year! Stay cool, stay safe! To ensure the health and safety of our facility, no diapered children (or adults) are permitted in the Pool at this time. We want to avoid any more accidental leaks that close the Pool for the rest of the neighborhood. Also, we know the baby pool closure comes at a bad time, but we trust you understand fecal accidents are common in that facility -- and the health and safety of our residents comes first. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We hope the county health department can authorize reopening next week. Lastly, don't forget: All patrons must have a Pool pass for admittance. Thank you for your cooperation. The Eagle Nest Board

Main Pool closed for 24 hours after fecal accident; reopening expected Saturday

Image
Eagle Nest residents, Unfortunately, the main Pool is closed for the next 24 hours so we can address a water-quality issue related to a baby diaper fecal accident. Our lifeguard staff is in the process of cleaning the facility and chemically “shocking” the water with the goal of reopening the facility first thing Saturday morning. In addition, the baby pool also is closed for a similar issue. Unfortunately, this pool requires county health department authorization to reopen, and that may not happen until next week. Watch the blog for a reopen date.   In the meantime, we kindly ask that children with diapers stay out of the main pool. This will help avoid another closure due to accidental leaks. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the health and safety of residents is our No. 1 priority, of course. Thank you. The Eagle Nest Board

Board welcomes new Director, re-election of two members at Annual Meeting

The Eagle Nest Board of Directors would like to welcome new Board member Denise Cayetano, who was elected at last month’s Annual Meeting. Cayetano, a resident in the 8000 block of Warbler Way, was a write-in candidate. Denise replaces three-term member Judith Buddenbaum, a longtime resident of Goldfinch Circle who joined the Board in 2013. Judith was instrumental supporting and approving several major neighborhood projects, including the remodeling of the Pool bathrooms, overhaul of the Pool pump room mechanicals and construction of our new Playground. We thank Judith for her many years of service (and her willingness to serve again had the Board had called on her) and wish her all the best. An Eagle Nest resident since 1997, Denise is a Canada native and graduate of Arlington High School and Aristotle College in Indianapolis. She and her husband Orlando operate a dentistry office in Broad Ripple specializing in prosthetics. The Cayetanos have two grown children. “We love Eagle N

Update on AT&T's cable installation project, where to call for yard restoration

As many of you are aware, last April AT&T began installing fiber optic cables throughout the neighborhood. Although the bulk of the installation work is done, AT&T’s restoration of yards and landscaping has been slow. Last month, WRTV (Channel 6) broadcast a report about AT&T’s work in Eagle Nest and the frustration it has caused some neighbors. Here is link to the report: https://www.theindychannel.com/news/working-for-you/indianapolis-homeowners-frustrated-with-unfinished-yard-repairs-from-at-ts-new-fiber-lines The Board has been in touch with AT&T construction field coordinator Joel Glentzer, who provided the following instructions to file a property restoration claim. Questions about the process should be directed to Glentzer  at Jg7582@att.com or (317) 219-8620. To File a New Claim If you need to file a new claim, have the following information available: Location: The physical address or GPS coordinates for the location where damage occurred. Photos: Inc

4th of July Parade; no picnic this year

Family Fun celebration at Eagle Nest falls on the 4th of July.   We will have our annual parade at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse.  Kids and families may decorate their bikes, wagons, or strollers and then do a short parade to celebrate the 4th.    We will NOT have a picnic following the parade this year as many members who help out with the social activities were going to be out-of-town, and  we thought many families would have other plans for the 4th.  We will resume with the picnic next year when Family Fun Night is not on the actual 4th.   Eagle Nest longtime resident, Brandy Schneider, has agreed to chair the parade activities. Thank you Brandy!!   Next week on July 11, we will resume Jet's Pizza on Family Fun Night, and we also will give out 50 free snow cones from Kona Ice from 6- 7:30. submitted by Alice Miley
