A word about Pool tags, dues, tennis courts, potholes, Annual Meeting, etc.

Fellow residents,

Now that the nice (and humid) spring weather is here, it's time to catch up on a few neighborhood housekeeping items as we march toward another great summer in Eagle Nest:

Pool tags: They are in the mail to all residents who have paid their 2018 dues as of May 1 and are current/in good standing with the association. Be on the lookout for a business-sized envelope containing your tags and a reminder list of pool rules and upcoming social activities. If you paid your dues after the May 1 deadline, delivery of your Pool tags may be delayed because we are focusing on residents who paid on time first. Please note: All residents must present their 2018 tag upon request by our lifeguard staff in order to use the Pool. No tag? No admittance -- including the facility opening Memorial Day weekend. No exceptions.

Pool rules: A copy of the rules is included with your tags. The rules exist for your safety and your fellow Pool patrons. Please observe the rules, and follow all lifeguard instructions. Again, no exceptions. Thank you for your cooperation.

Baby pool: It's fixed! The pool edging has been completely rebuilt, and the bottom has been resurfaced, powerwashed and repainted it for the season. Our wee ones should enjoy their new swimming digs!

Annual dues: Unfortunately, more than two dozen residents still haven't paid their annual dues, and that means they forfeit the $25 credit the Board extended to all residents in good standing this year. Time is running short for these delinquent residents, too: The last day to submit dues is May 31 (they must be postmarked May 31 or dropped in the secure Clubhouse mailbox at 8075 Teel Way by midnight May 31). On June 1, all unpaid accounts will be turned over to our lawyer for collection, and that will result in additional fees. We hope it won't come to that, of course. If you have questions about your account balance, email our Secretary/Bookkeeper at enpoa_sec@att.net. And thank you to those residents who paid their dues on time!

Tennis courts: They are closed for repair until further notice. Several large cracks have reopened in the playing surface, creating a safety hazard for users. The Board is actively seeking repair bids, and we hope to reopen the courts this summer. Both will be restriped, and one will be painted as a pickleball court. Until then, the gate will remain locked. Unfortunately, we do not have a timetable for reopening at this time. If you see someone inside the courts, please call any Board member and report it. We apologize for the inconvenience, but safety is our No. 1 priority for our residents and their guests. We trust you agree.

Potholes repairs: Thank you to all residents who filed website reports about the many monstrous holes throughout our neighborhood. As a result, the city has begun filling them this week, so if you see an area that hasn't been addressed please file a report on the Mayor's Action Line website: http://maps.indy.gov/RequestIndy The more reports we file, the better our chances of getting action. Please help us keep our neighborhood streets in good condition -- filing a report only takes a few minutes.

Hague Road entrance: As you may have noticed, the city is installing sidewalks on both sides of Hague Road in front of Lawrence North High School. It is unclear if our road sign or landscaped median will be affected, but city officials are still researching options. In preparation, crews are installing drainage pipes on the east side of Hague, creating occasional road congestion and delays. Please use caution when using this entrance/exit.

Annual Meeting and Board elections: A reminder that our Annual Meeting and Board elections is Wednesday, June 27. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to all residents in good standing. If you are interested in running for one of the four opening seats, please email your name, a short bio and "platform" of action items to make Eagle Nest the best it can be to scottthien@comcast.net and we'll add your name to the ballot. The deadline to submit your candidacy information is May 25.

Finally, thank you: Thank you for doing your part make Eagle Nest the Northeastside's preferred residential destination. The best neighborhoods keep an eye out for their neighbors, maintain their properties, respect the association covenants, report suspicious activities, and engage with fellow residents whenever possible. Yep, that's what Eagle Nest does, our residents are why our neighborhood is special. So, thank you!

As always, your volunteer Board welcomes your questions/suggestions/feedback (Click here for Board contact information).

On behalf of the Board,
Scott Thien
Eagle Nest President
