Board Update: Directories delivered, changing pool hours, food truck on Tuesday, Jet’s Pizza returning, pothole repairs completed

Eagle Nest residents,

Here's a look at what's ahead for the week of August 17:

DIRECTORY DELIVERY: Be sure to check your mailbox today (Sunday) for your complimentary copy of the 2020-21 Eagle Nest Directory! The booklet, sporting an aqua/blue cover with the Eagle Nest logo on the front, is your official guide to our neighborhood, complete with street and lot maps homeowner contact information.

A big thank you to Secretary/Bookkeeper Chris’e Van Meter and Board member Brian Schneider for working hard to keep our directory up to date! (Note: Some new residents may not be listed because of production deadlines. Don’t worry, we’ll get you added next year.) If you don't receive a directory or your copy is damaged, please send an email to enpoa_sec@att.net and we'll get a copy to you.

POOL HOURS CHANGE: Effective Monday, Aug. 17, the Eagle Nest pool will move to a modified operating schedule. The start of school has cut our lifeguard availability in half, resulting in the following hours:
  • 4 to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday
Weekend hours remain the same:
  • 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday
  • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday
Per tradition, the first half hour and last half hour of each day are still reserved for adult swim.

The last day of operation for the Eagle Nest pool this season is Labor Day, Monday, Sept 7.

POTHOLE REPAIRS COMPLETE! You may have noticed the City of Indianapolis recently repaired all the potholes throughout our association, thanks to the diligence of Board member Helen Galvin. Several areas were in severe repair, including the three-way stop at Tanager-Warbler, the Hague Road entrance and various other high-traffic areas. Helen filed individual reports for every street in our development and made repeated calls to the city to track the repair process. Great job, Helen! Any resident is free to request a pothole repair, not just the Board. Simply call the Mayor’s Action Center at (317) 327-4622 or go online at Indy.gov.

FOOD TRUCK TUESDAY: A reminder that Serendipity food truck will be at the Clubhouse from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 18. Menu: elk burger sliders, chicken tacos, crab cakes, hand-cut truffle fries, Cubans and more. Winner of the 2019 Central Indiana Battle of Food Trucks, @serendipitytruck has become a neighborhood favorite with its eclectic menu and high-quality food.

JET’S PIZZA UPDATE: Jet’s Pizza is expected to resume their $5 personal pizza sales on Thursday, August 20, at the Clubhouse. Sales were temporarily suspended because of staffing issues, but they should be back on track this week. As always, things are subject to change, so watch the blog and our Facebook page for updates.

FOOD BUS AUGUST 25:
ChefTLC, 5-8 p.m. They are so good we invited them back for an encore August visit! Menu: burgers, corndogs, pork tenderloins, chicken tenders, variety of fried sides, funnel cake fries, Fanta drinks. @Chef_tlc is bringing back their famous peach cobbler, too! Yes!

In other Board news:

FREE SNOW CONES A HIT: We had more than 50 families turn out for free Kona Ice snow cones as part of Family Fun Nights at the Clubhouse. Keep an eye on the blog events link for more activities.

That's it for now. As always, feel free to contact any Board member with questions, concerns or suggestions. Have a great week!

On behalf of the Board,

Scott Thien, President
