Board Update: Curb Appeal Awards, food truck Tuesday, free snow cones Thursday, directories coming soon

 Hello, Eagle Nest residents!

Here is what's ahead in the neighborhood for the week of August 10:

CURB APPEAL AWARDS: It's time to announce the winners of the annual Eagle Nest Curb Appeal Awards! Drum roll, please ...

First place: 8229 Tern Court (Lot 404), Stephen and JoAnn Hoskins

Second place: 7840 Teel Way (Lot 115), Otis and Janice Ashley

Third place: 8021 Teel Way (Lot 54), Duane Hall

Honorable mentions: 7809 Nightingale Court (Lot 332, below left), Jim and Claudette Lane; 8246 Hummingbird Court (Lot 415, below right), Greg and Mindy Knapp.

How do you win a Curb Appeal Award? Basically, it comes down to how your property appears from the curb - the landscaping presentation and overall condition of the home. (The contest was suspended in 2019 because of other neighborhood business.)

This year, there are so many well-maintained properties in our development the judging committee literally had pull winning addresses from a hat. Each winner earns a VISA gift card and the opportunity to display a Curb Appeal Award winner sign provided by the Board.

Curb Appeal Award winners set the standard for home ownership in Eagle Nest, shining examples of why our neighborhood is a popular residential destination. Well-kept properties translate into solid property values, and that's something we all can appreciate.

Congrats to all our 2020 Curb Appeal Award winners!
