Adjusted Pool hours of 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 14



The Eagle Nest Board of Directors hopes everyone's summer is off to a great start. It's a busy time for families, that's for sure. And that's why we're reaching out.

Due to staff conflicts, our Pool will have adjusted hours of 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. All of our lifeguards have personal commitments ranging from graduation parties to family vacations to college visits, so we hired a third-party lifeguard to cover the latter half of the day.

The good news: We'll resume daily operating hours on Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m. Not to brag (OK, maybe a little), but not every area neighborhood pool is open daily. Even nearby Sahm Park Aquatics Center with its massive staff and city funding is closed one day a week.

We apologize for the inconvenience but wanted to let you know in advance so you could adjust any plans accordingly.

Oh, and if you have recommendations for certified lifeguards, please email Pool Manager Samantha Burns at samanthaburns51@gmail.com. We're always looking to build our bench.

Each year, it gets harder and harder to pick the winners in the annual Holiday Lights Contest – and that’s a good thing. It’s so refreshing, uplifting and encouraging to see the spirit of the holidays on full display across the neighborhood, in big ways and small. This year’s panel of judges – a Board member’s relatives visiting from Florida and Belgium (no joke!) – were amazed by the effort so many homeowners put into decorating their lots and homes. Board Update: Pool Party with free food, new fob access, cleanup crew recap; Annual Garage Sale June 7-8; dues deadlines approaching and more!

Hello, Eagle Nesters! The Board hopes your spring is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe with all the cold, rainy weather of April that the Pool will be open in barely a month. In preparation for that, it’s time to share a few updates about the 2024 swim season: Nearly a dozen residents turn out to deep clean the Pool A huge thanks goes out to the volunteer team led by Bittern Lane residents John and Cindy Spicklemire for organizing a deep clean of Pool facility on Saturday, April 27. The team of 12 spent hours power washing the chairs to address years of sunblock stains and removing wall grime, while others pulled weeds, cleaned the tables and swept up debris. In return, the Board brought in Jimmy John’s sandwiches, chips and water to keep our cleaning crew fueled up. That was a small price to pay for what would have cost thousands of dollars in labor and time to hire a contractor to do the same work.
