A word (or two) about pool tag rules

The opening weekend for the Eagle Nest pool was a success!

Aside from a few minor mixups on pool tags (some residents forgot to indicate a specific number, while others were accidental casualties of outdated neighborhood records), dozens of homeowners and their families turned out Memorial Day weekend to swim. The weather was great, and the pool never looked better (thanks to a great job by pool manager Susan Anderson and her lifeguard crew!)

A reminder, however, that every pool patron must have a pool tag to enter the pool area or swim. Your Eagle Nest board has instructed Susan Anderson and her crew to enforce this rule, without exception. Don't blame then if they turn you away because you don't have the required tag.

Why so strict? Pool admittance has gotten a bit lax in recent years, and that invites unwanted patrons. Further, a fair chunk our neighborhood association dues goes toward the maintenance and staffing of the pool and clubhouse -- amenities intended solely for Eagle Nest residents in good standing only. We don't pay dues so non-residents can swim on our dime. If you see violators, please notify the lifeguard staff immediately.

Guests of residents are welcome, of course, as long as they are accompanied by a homeowner and use a guest pass. Each resident is provided one guest pass good for five visits. Additional guest passes and replacement pool tags are available for a nominal charge.

Residents can pick up their pool tags at the pool daily, roughly 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and until 7 p.m. on Sunday. Just look for a lifeguard and they will help you. You will be asked to provide your name and lot number to verify residency. Only residents in good standing (not in violation of the covenants) may obtain tags.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Enjoy swim season 2012!
