Scouting for Food Drive scheduled for Sunday, April 7

Now that the snow has stopped -- which hopefully will melt by the weekend -- we're back on track for our Scouting for Food drive.

On Sunday afternoon, April 7, neighborhood Cub Scout Pack 520 will be canvassing Eagle Nest to collect non-perishable food items. The scouts, accompanied by their parents, will be in search of donations for the Paw Pantry food pantry at Fall Creek Valley Middle School.

The food pantry currently serves 19 Fall Creek Valley families, some of whom live in our area. The Paw Pantry uses your donations to provide nutritious and easy to cook food items that students can take home to their families on Friday afternoons.

If you have items you would like to contribute, please leave them on the front step of your home clearly marked as "Scouting for Food".

For your convenience, items also may be dropped at the Eagle Nest Clubhouse during the afternoon. Look for the drop box on the clubhouse's front step.

The Eagle Nest Board endorses this effort and hopes residents will participate in this worthy cause. Times are tough for some in our area, so your contributions are most appreciated.

If you have questions or want to help, contact Eagle Nest resident Warren Rosenthal by phone at 258-1086 or by emails at res-warren@sbcglobal.net
