Sip on this: First Eagle Nest Beer Fest deemed a tasty success

More than dozen people turned out for the inaugural Eagle Nest Winter Beer Fest on Saturday night at the Clubhouse.

Participants brought more than 12 growlers of homecrafted and locally brewed beers, ranging from IPAs to blonds to flavored darks and more. Local breweries represented included Three Wise Men, Black Acre and Triton. The Eagle Nest
Social Committee threw in for some light snacks, including some soft drinks (which surprisingly went unopened the entire night). Suffice to say, nearly all the the growlers were gone when the event broke up about midnight.

There were card games, socializing among new and longtime residents and plenty of laughs. Resident
Charlie Corkwell, husband of social committee member Angie Corkwell, stole the show by bringing several of his homemade batches, as well as a mini fridge fitted with a tap (Clubhouse Manager Kelly Wright is on probation for taking the last glass of that hugely popular beer.). Thanks also to Charlie for bringing his garage stereo and speakers!

For those who missed out, well ... you missed out. But you might have a second chance: Rumors already are circulating about having a second event. Stay tuned to the blog for more on that.

In the meantime, the Eagle Nest Board would like to thank the social committee for organizing and orchestrating the event, and cheers to all the great neighbors who joined the fun!
