Snow is coming -- keep the roads clear (Also, see our Santa Drive-thru photos and holiday lights winners!)

As you probably know, a major winter storm is expected to hit Indianapolis on Thursday and Friday. Our plowing team is ready, but we need your help to keep our neighborhood safe: Please move your vehicles off the street so our contractors can do their best work.

Plowed-in cars covered with mounds of ice and snow reduce sightlines and impede safe travel for residents. Please be considerate of your neighbors and comply with our safety request (or your vehicle risks being towed).

Speaking of plowing, please be patient. Plowing for 419 homes takes time. Our primary goal is to clear the main drags for emergency vehicle access; courts may get one pass before getting finished later. Depending on the accumulation, plowing may wait until the storm ends. So, please, be patient.

3rd Annual Santa Drive-thru a hit with families (photos!)

Once again, dozens of families turned out for our annual Santa Christmas Drive-thru with Mrs. Claus (aka Warbler residents Tom and Cindy Corbett) and their elf helper (aka Lindsey Dix Holmes). Thanks to all the families who donated decorated homemade holiday cards earmarked for our brave emergency responders and firefighters at the 75th Street station. (And thanks to sleigh driver Jack O'Tain for providing his decorated truck.)

And the winners of the annual Holiday Lights and Decorating Contest are ...

Forget Newfields or the old Sears parking lot -- we have our own holiday light show going on right now. Thanks to all the residents who have made our neighborhood merrier and brighter this season. The judges had a tough time picking the best-decorated homes, but in the end the votes went to:

1ST PLACE: 8120 Warbler Way (Ray Voss and Roa Dee Dimaano)
Judges' comments: "It's hard to get much more festive than this. Last year's second-place finisher finally takes the top spot this year, barely edging out five-time 1st place winner Tom and Cindy Corbett."

2ND PLACE: 8250 Warbler Way (Tom and Cindy Corbett)
Judges' comments: "The driveway canopy made an impressive display even better. Year after year, the Corbetts have established themselves as the property to beat, and you can see why."

3RD PLACE: 8232 Osprey Court (Norma Leverenz)
Judges' comments: "This display maximizes economy of space with a simple yet eye-catching display. A clear leader among all the courts in our development."

First place earns a $50 gift card, $25 for second and $15 for third. Better yet, these residents earned bragging rights as Eagle Nest's best displays. Some notable honorable mentions: 8101 and 8133 Bittern Lane, 8019 and 7935 Tanager Lane, and 8331 Mockingbird Lane. Congrats, all!

Happy holidays, and we wish everyone a very happy and safe New Year!

On behalf of the Board,
Scott Thien, President
