Still have your old blue trash cart? Two-week pickup window begins Monday, Jan. 12
Eagle Nest residents,
As you know, the City of Indianapolis recently switched residential trash service providers from Republic to LRS in Marion County. In recent weeks, most of the old blue trash carts have been replaced with new gray bins.
Unfortunately, some residents still have their blue carts, largely because LRS information about pickup dates for the discontinued carts has been unclear and incomplete.
Until now.
Eagle Nest Board member Ben Clemons recently contacted the Mayor’s Action Center about the remaining blue Republic carts in our neighborhood. He secured a two-week pickup window, starting Monday, Jan. 12, for all remaining blue trash carts. (Case #2500002060)
If you still have a blue trash cart, the city asks that you put it out to the curb by Monday, Jan. 12, and leave it there – empty -- for pickup within the next two weeks. (We’re told it may happen sooner, possibly within seven days.) The cart pickup does not include the yellow-topped recycling carts.
Sure, our neighborhood look a little trashy for a while, but it’s necessary to help standardize trash equipment throughout our development. That said, the Board kindly asks that all residents properly stow their new gray carts out of view on non-trash days, so we don’t have to send covenant violation warnings. Thank you for your cooperation on that front.
