Food truck lineup for the week of June 1 at Clubhouse: ChefTLC on Tuesday, Jet’s Pizza on Thursday


We hope everyone is staying safe amid the continuing COVID-19 concerns and now, sadly, the violent protests in downtown Indianapolis. Thankfully, things are quiet in Eagle Nest (and we hope it stays that way!). Looking for an escape from all the craziness? Grab your calendar and circle these food truck/vendor dates at the Clubhouse:

ChefTLC, Tuesday, June 2, 5 to 8 p.m.: With their soul-infused menu of comfort food, the @Chef_tlc food bus has become a fast favorite in Eagle Nest. Tonya and Reggie Coleman are bringing back their same great $8 menu of grilled burgers, Indy steak and cheese sandwiches, fried chicken strips and wraps, and $3 fried sides like fries, onion petals, jalapeno poppers and more. Look for two new menu items, too: ChefTLC’s famous big chicken wings and XXL chocolate chip cookies! Cash or credit cards accepted. You also can call ahead or text your order to (317) 389-1968 and arrange a pickup time.

Jet’s Pizza, Thursday, June 4, 5-7 p.m.: You know the drill -- $5 personal pizzas (pepperoni, sausage or cheese), hot, boxed and ready to go. CASH ONLY. Don’t wait until the end of the evening, because once they’re gone they’re gone. Save the date: Jet’s will be back on Saturday, June 13. Enjoy!

Obligatory fine print: As Always, please respect CDC guidelines on social distancing during ordering and pickup. Also, please park in the back lot to prevent vehicle congestion and use caution entering and exiting the Clubhouse parking lot.

The Board hopes everyone’s fall season is off to a great start. October is shaping up to be a busy month in Eagle Nest – read on! 2023 Curb Appeal Awards winners announced! The Board is proud to recognize the following lots as winners of our 2023 Curb Appeal Awards, presented to Eagle Nest owners for their outstanding lot and house maintenance. First place (tied): 8031 Teel Way , above left, (Lot 52, Clayton Napier) and 8111 Warbler Way , above right (Lot 229, Todd and Rokeena Williams).  Both homes underwent extensive exterior renovations in recent years, including new roofing, new siding, new paint, wood repair, landscaping and more (all pre-approved by the Rules and Restrictions Committee, by the way). The owners could have saved considerable money by moving to a newer home in another neighborhood, but they chose to stay and invest in their properties. Board Update, 05-22-23: Pool opening, tags in mail; annual Garage Sale; dues deadline June 1; Annual Meeting and Board Election June 15

Summer unofficially begins Memorial Day weekend, and that means our Pool facility will be opening for the season. Our main and wading pools have been power-washed and filled, and our guard team will be working to balance the chemicals this week. Weather permitting, we are targeting noon Sunday for opening, but watch the Eagle Nest blog and our Facebook page for the official day and time. For 2023, hours of operation will be noon to 8 p.m. daily. We have a great lifeguard team in place again this year. Their No. 1 charge? Safety. When it comes to rules, what our guard staff says goes. No exceptions. Violators will be ejected and referred to the Board for further action. Bottomline: This is a family-oriented neighborhood facility, not a public pool playhouse, and want to keep it enjoyable for all. Board update: Pool closing Labor Day, annual dog swim, Curb Appeal Awards, live music coming to Clubhouse!

Pool closes Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4  All good things come to and end, as the saying goes, and that includes our 2023 Pool season. Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4, is the last day of operation for our facility, with hours from noon to 8 p.m. It’s been a great summer of swimming, despite a few mechanical and staffing issues, so please be sure to thank Pool Manager Samantha Burns and her lifeguard staff for a job well done. For the most part, our facility was staffed and open daily the entire summer, unlike many of the city’s public pools – including nearby Sahm Park. We hope to see all our guards back next year, but if you know someone interested in joining the Eagle Nest Pool staff, please contact Samantha. In the meantime, enjoy these last days of swimming!
