Pool Update: New motor installed for pumps; algae treatment scheduled to address green water

Image
As signaled on our Facebook page earlier this week, the dark green water in our Pool is being treated with an algaecide, and a new pump motor installed on Wednesday should help improve circulation and water clarity. The water should be cleared within a day or two as the chemicals rebalance. Fingers crossed we avoid debris from stormy weather, as that can affect our water quality. In the meantime, residents should know the water in the main Pool is safe for swimming. It is not a health issue — more like swimming in any Indiana lake. It’s worth noting that despite the water’s unusual color, our main Pool has passed every weekly water test since opening Memorial Day weekend. The baby wading pool, however, is another matter. Aging underground plumbing combined with unreliable mechanicals often results in closure, forcing our team to drain, refill and rebalance the chemicals. Storm debris and occasional visits by ducks don’t help matters, either. Another maintenance challenge is the size of...

1st of 4 free classes on DirectorySpot neighborhood app is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the Clubhouse

Image
As many know, two years ago the Board discontinued publishing the costly printed neighborhood directory in favor of a convenient mobile-based app called DirectorySpot to save money and improve the security of resident lot information. But we know not everyone has the same tolerance for technology, so Bookkeeper Chris’e Van Meter – the driving force behind the directory's conversion from paper to digital – will host a series of free hands-on classes where residents to get help downloading the app, setting up credentials, learning how edit lot information and much more. Here are the dates and times for the DirectorySpot classes at the Clubhouse: Wednesday, July 16, 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Questions? Contact Chris’e at   enpoa_sec@att.net .

The incident began at midday on Tuesday, July 8, when police were dispatched to the scene of an electrical box that had been struck by a car. The vehicle was later found at a nearby hotel, said Joshua Holmes, North District community relations officer for IMPD. "The male driver was found passed out in the car and fled when approached," Holmes told an Eagle Nest Board member. "After a short pursuit, the damaged vehicle came to a stop and the driver surrendered. He was suspected to be intoxicated and linked to a pr...
