Breaking Christmas news! Santa has confirmed his appearance time for our popular Cookies with Santa event: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at our Clubhouse. Per our longtime tradition, we’ll have cookies and cupcakes for our little Eagle Nesters to decorate and enjoy. We also will have coffee, punch and other refreshments, as well as plenty of time to sit on Santa’s lap and share those holiday wishes. Mrs. Claus will be there, too! This is the perfect opportunity to capture a holiday family photo for the ages, as well as meet other families with children in the neighborhood. Join us! Social Co-chairs Sarah Craney and Marcella Kates welcome volunteers for setup and support, so if interested please email them at mssarahjourdan@gmail.com  and  marcellakates@gmail.com . Happy holidays!

Want to keep our neighborhood safe during the storm? Ask your neighbor to move their vehicles

Image
The current winter storm is expected to dump 4-6 inches of new snow Sunday, so the Eagle Nest Board kindly asks all neighbors to move their vehicles off the street this weekend. This lets our snowplows clear the roads efficiently, meaning a cost savings for the plowing services we all pay for. Keeping the roads clear is also a safety concern -- and just something that good neighbors do. Think of it this way: Every car left on the street is one small snow island plows have to work around. Clear roads make for a smoother, safer pass for everyone. Thursday on our blog site and Facebook page , the Board asked neighbors to move their cars out of the way. As of 4 p.m. today, more than 90 percent of homes helped us out But that left more than 30 cars and trucks in the way of plows. Some of these may have been short-term visitors, but if any of these are your neighbors and you want to gently suggest they help us all out, it would be great to put these vehicles in driveways instead.  Areas ...

More snow is coming - please keep our streets clear of vehicles

Here we go again. Assuming local weather forecasts pan out, Indianapolis could see 2 to 4+ inches of snow by Sunday, followed by single-digit temperatures. Boo. That said, the Board asks all residents to keep our streets clear of vehicles so our plowing contractor can do his work efficiently and safely. We also ask for a little grace and patience, too, as it takes time to address about 8 miles of roads and 17 cul-de-sacs in our development. Stay safe, everyone!

Please keep the streets clear of vehicles so our plows can address overnight snow

Image
As many are aware, Indianapolis is forecast to get 2 to 4 inches of snow overnight. The Board of Directors asks residents to clear all vehicles off the roads so our plowing contractor can address the roads efficiently in the morning. Plowing should start about 7 a.m., which is when the snow accumulation is expected to stop. Due to budget constraints, we’re trying to time our work with the end of the storm so we avoid multiple plowings for a minor snow event like this. As has been our longtime practice, the main throughfares will be plowed first, then secondary streets, then the cul-de-sacs. We ask for your patience and understanding as it takes time to safely plow the nearly 8 miles of roads in our development. The first step in that effort is to keep the streets clear of vehicles.
